Shanghai Institute of Nutrition and Health (SINH): A Research Hub!

in Life-n-Thoughtslast year (edited)

Wherever you go there must be a story and some places that will have more impact than the other places instead of being the most generic attractive or less stunning and even some ignorable views can be your favorite impression. And so nothing is untouched and everything you explore around you is meaningful and has some insights to tell yo a story from the history or experienced. In my Shanghai tour I have come to know such a place is the Shanghai Institute of Nutrition and Health (SINH) where my friend is enrolled and this institute is also under the supervision of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), same like my one. So, I wanted to have a look the area though during the holidays everything was closed and most of the Labs here are now closed and dal with the fatal diseases and insects about life sciences. Most interesting part is the old buildings from the early 19s like 1920/1930s and those are mostly from the European architectures like the French designs. I have enjoyed the area and surrounding city area is also have such old views as most of these buildings are saved as heritage sites. And in the center of the city you can easily find a new Shanghai here!

The Shanghai Institute of Nutrition and Health (SINH) is one of China's leading research institutions dedicated to the study of nutrition and related areas. It was established in 2003, as a merger between the Institute of Nutrition and Food Safety and the Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology. The SINH has a rich history that spans over 80 years. Its roots can be traced back to 1935 when the Institute of Biochemistry and the Institute of Physiology were founded in Shanghai. Today, the SINH is home to over 1000 researchers and staff, and its research covers a broad range of topics, including the relationship between diet and health, the molecular mechanisms of disease, and the development of new therapies and drugs.

One of the most attractive things about the SINH is its beautiful campus is located in the heart of Shanghai. The campus is home to several old buildings that date back to the 1930s and 1940s when the first institutes were established. These buildings have been carefully restored and preserved, and they serve as a testament to the rich history of the institute and its contributions to Chinese biomedical research. The modernization of these buildings has not destroyed the real architectural views back to the 1930s which is really appreciable. The SINH campus has an old laboratory building, which was built in 1935. This building is a classic example of the Art Deco style that was popular in Shanghai in the 1930s, and it is considered one of the city's architectural treasures. The new research building was completed in 2013. This building has now a modern facility that incorporates the latest advances in research technology and provides a state-of-the-art environment for researchers to conduct their work.

I feel very happy to be here with my friend and know about the history and the research works that are being done here with different sub-institutes. Though there are some new buildings that have been constructed to facilitate the research works, still the old building is properly taken care of. The beautiful surrounding ensures a healthy lifestyle amidst the busiest city of Chine which is really appreciable.

In a nutshell, the Shanghai Institute of Nutrition and Health has a long and rich history that spans over 80 years. It was one of the first institutes which were established in Shanghai at the beginning of the 20th century. Today, the SINH is a leading research institution in China, with a strong focus on nutrition, biochemistry, and cell biology. The institute's beautiful campus, with its old buildings and modern facilities. Also, the surrounding area has some beautiful scenic areas to explore and walk on the beautiful streets.
