They are about 20 years old. They were shot on a weak digital soap box (camera). The jpeg format retained little information, but I tried to bring them to a decent appearance by processing in Lightroom..
Хочется не только праздника, но и общения с природой. Надеюсь, что наша встреча скоро состоится. Сейчас я могу бродить только внутри своего архива. И я нашёл для вас очень старые фотографии. Им около 20 лет. Они были сняты на слабенькую цифровую мыльницу (камеру). Формат jpeg сохранил мало информации, но я постарался привести их к приличному виду обработкой в Лайтрум.
That was in early June. I decided to take a walk along the bed of the Tosna River. This is a small river in the Leningrad region. On the banks of this river, my friend Ivan bought an old house and started an apiary with bees. It was with him that I visited that time.
Это было в начале июня. Я решил прогуляться вдоль русла реки Тосна. Это небольшая речушка в Ленинградской области. На берегу этой реки мой друг Иван купил старый дом и завёл пасеку с пчёлами. Именно у него я и гостил в тот раз.
There were no roads. But there was a small path and it led me to the forest. It was a kingdom of beavers and the owner there was a good Leshiy. Just in case, I put a small gift for him. Three drying and candy. I think he will share with birds, animals and insects. I do not mention the other guests.
Там не было дорог. Но небольшая тропинка была и привела она меня к лесу. Это было царство бобров и хозяином там был добрый Леший. На всякий случай я положил для него небольшой подарок. Три сушки и конфету. Я думаю, что он поделится с птицами, зверями и насекомыми. Остальных гостей я не упоминаю.
Beavers did a great job. They set up many dams and chopped a large number of trees. Now they have a lot of water in the dry summer.
After one of these dams, I used my float rod. It was very successful. There turned out to be a lot of dace fish. Perhaps it was difficult for them to make their way upstream from the beaver dam. I managed to catch a dozen two fish, until they suddenly stopped pecking.
Бобры славно потрудились. Они настроили много плотин и нарубили большое количество деревьев. Зато у них есть много воды в сухое лето.
После одной из таких плотин я забросил свою поплавковую удочку. Это было очень удачно. Там оказалось много рыбы елец. Возможно им было трудно пробраться вверх по течению из-за бобровой запруды. Я успел поймать десятка два рыбин, пока они вдруг не перестали клевать.
I wandered through the forest. There were interesting finds. Time flew by quickly. When I started returning to the house, it began to get dark and in some places fog appeared.
Побродил я и по лесу. Были интересные находки. Время пролетело быстро. Когда я возвращался к дому, начинало смеркаться и местами появлялся туман.
Abundant dew lay on the grass. It was getting cool. But the day was lived not in vain. And in the morning I helped Ivan take care of the bees. I think the next shot is related to our community.
На траву легла обильная роса. Становилось прохладно. Но день был прожит не зря. А утром я помогал Ивану ухаживать за пчёлами. Думаю следующий снимок имеет отношение к нашему сообществу.

You have done a good job improving these photos in Lightroom. I wouldn't have thought they were taken with such an old camera.
What a wonderful journey in the nature. We all would need such a walk or hike through the woods to recharge our batteries - thanks a lot for sharing your memories with us @bambuka 😊

This is not even a camera, but a digital video camera. She recorded the signal on tape. But it could work in photo camera mode. It was interesting to conduct this experiment.

I have never heard of such a soap box camera, so I thought it would be just a name for a photo camera - then your job was even better to get the photos from the tape to your computer :)

I hope your numbers of infections will decrease soon so that they will loosen your measures too, like our lifes should get back to as close to "normal" as possible soon.
This camera is still alive, but I don’t know if there are cassettes for it.
I think that on the weekend of May I will definitely fall into the forest. I don't think anyone can stop me :D
Yes, that's the problem with older technical devices - they work, but you might not be able to get spare parts or material you need for them to work. Ebay might be a place where you could find such cassettes ;)
During the whole time of lockdown nobody could stop me if I wanted to go somewhere. I have been alone anyway and have almost never met anyone on my paths. But somehow most of the times I have even not felt like going somewhere - just had a bad feeling about it. Hopefully this will change now when our measures and restrictions are loosened.
Yes, you should definitely go out and have a good time ... recharge your batteries and have a look if the nature has changed ;)

I don’t think it’s a good idea to reanimate that camera. She is too weak and it does not have much zest. Normal weak camera. Another thing is to find the old lens and try it. There are different surprises.
Yes, nobody stopped me either. But the very likelihood that someone could start to do this discouraged the desire to leave far from home. And the weather was not very cheerful. Now another thing. I just feel what I need in the forest :-)

That's right, it wouldn't be worth to spend a lot of work and money when the results wouldn't be spectacular ;)
Nobody can stop us from going in the woods, right? 😉
I didn't go far away from home neither and only to places where I knew that I wouldn't meet anybody.
