Today I had to buy some stuff in Pula, the nearest city, only about ten kilometers from where I live. As always on these occasions, I decided to take a walk in some nice quiet place on the outskirts of Pula when everything was bought and done.
There is a long and narrow bay just across the street from one of the suburban neighborhoods on the way that I often take when driving back home.
It's a nice place for Wednesday walks. The city is near, but you can easily forget it because the harbor has its own atmosphere and while walking along the shore one is slowly entering another dimension.
While standing on the small pier that you saw in the previous photograph, I noticed a starfish in the shallow water underneath.
You can always encounter plenty of seagulls here.
This group has found its place on the simple, roof-like structure mounted on a small fishing boat. The considerably bigger, elegant sailing boats are visible in the background.
Small groups of these birds were scattered all over the marina.
This trio was hangin' on the very small boat, shaped almost like a bathtub.
Here you can see two groups, each one has its own boat. They look a bit like two fishing crews.
This sleepy one with a dark head was enjoying the sunny morning on the pier.

One of the seagulls that have occupied a small boat covered with a tarp was busy taking care of his plumage.

I haven't noticed it there on the spot, but some hours later at home, while selecting and preparing the photographs for the post, I noticed a small feather or chunk of a feather floating in the air near the bird's head. During these personal hygiene operations, some imperfect feathers get pulled out and thrown away.
Around eight in the morning, when these photographs were taken, the day was nice and relatively warm in the places exposed to the sun. But the day started pretty cold, and the frost was still persistent in the shade.

... was photographed in the shade of an old, stranded boat that needs a lot of repair before being able to safely float again.

The small almond tree not far from there was covered with flowers. The spring is near.

On the way back to the car, I stopped to photograph the dense growth of Prickly pear cacti.
At night, especially on weekends, this place by the sea becomes a party area ...
... so a beer can or two is nothing out of the ordinary.
This smoking equipment was photographed nearby.
I was sniffing around like a photo - detective 😀 ...
... but I haven't found anything unexpected.
As the sun was getting stronger ...
... swarms of dancing sparkles appeared on the water.
I took plenty of photographs and created a couple of GIFs, but I'll publish those, along with some other reflections on the water, tomorrow in the Shadows Hunter community. In a post that will be all about reflections and illusions.
