Wednesday Walk - SMALL PORT BLUES

in Wednesday Walk3 years ago (edited)

There is a lot of blue in the small port of Liznjan, about 5 kilometers from my hometown ...

img_7500_malo.jpg

... especially on a clear, bright day like today ...

img_7501_malo.jpg

... when the dry northern wind clears all traces of mist and humidity, and reveals a crisp picture with saturated colors.

img_7507_malo.jpg

I visit this place very often, so I already published quite a few posts about it, and it's getting slightly difficult to find new themes and narratives that can make each post look and feel distinctive enough.

img_7869_malo.jpg

This time I was saved by all those blues.

img_7871_malo.jpg

While walking around the port, after taking a few shots with the blue sky, blue sea, and a blue fishing boat in between, I started to look for smaller, hidden, less obvious traces of blue, and this became some kind of game ...

img_7508_malo.jpg

... that soon turned into a more articulate thought, which sounded in my head more or less like " Hey !!! This could give some structure to the Wednesday Walk post ... cool man, let's make a blue post this week !!! "

img_7846_malo.jpg

There was this overturned little boat, its bottom was painted in lovely light blue ... with visible traces of protective red layer underneath ...

img_7847_malo.jpg

... and when I came closer ...

img_7843_malo.jpg

... I noticed that there is a lot of art on that grungy surface ...

img_7845_malo.jpg

... it just needed to be framed properly ...

img_7841_malo.jpg

... so I took quite a few shots, delighted by these accidental doodles ...

img_7840_malo.jpg

... some fragments looked like mysterious maps of small treasure islands lost in a vast ocean of blue ...

img_7839_malo.jpg

... some looked vaguely familiar, like something I saw on the real maps ... I have a strong sensation that this could be part of the coastline somewhere in Northern Europe.

img_7842_malo.jpg

After this white, red & blue abstraction ...

(Enlargeable)

... I continued my walk through the shades of blue ...

img_7524_malo.jpg

... while the fishing boat was slowly approaching the dock.

img_7515_malo.jpg

At one point, I head a chance to put the boat and the bay watch tower in the same shot, close to each other ... and I was really grateful for that opportunity.

img_7864_malo.jpg

There was a blue door on the small shack used as storage for fishing and repairing tools ...

img_7866_malo.jpg

... some wild plants were growing in front of that door ... and that floral arrangement looked great against the blue background.

img_7863_malo.jpg

A bit further, a similar shack was turned into a ruin ...

img_7860_malo.jpg

... and there, among fragments of various broken stuff ...

img_7859_malo.jpg

... I found these blue stripes ... a nice addition to the collection of blues.

img_7852_malo.jpg

This piece of blue nylon ...

img_7850_malo.jpg

... was the part of the makeshift outboard engine protection.

img_7878_malo.jpg

Another piece of nylon was laying on the ground with no particular purpose ... you can also see a blue plastic can doing the same in the background ...

img_7868_malo.jpg

... as the turquoise kite is flying high in the light blue sky.

img_7885_malo.jpg

Plenty of blue can be found on the boats ...

img_7886_malo.jpg

... some are almost completely blue ...

img_7888_malo.jpg

... others have just some blue stuff on them ...

img_7883_malo.jpg

... like this blue sweep net ...

img_7884_malo.jpg

... with a nice touch of yellow.

img_7880_malo.jpg

Some details of that net looked great ...

img_7881_malo.jpg

... kind of baroque, when seen up close ... from a certain angle.

img_7855_malo.jpg

This minimalist rope - composition was also found on one of the small boats you saw before.

img_7874_malo.jpg

Here you can see some more blue ... on another group of boats ...

img_7877_malo.jpg

... followed by a slightly different group of boats ...

img_7856_malo.jpg

... and this lovely floating trio with the blue element in the center of the shot.

img_7889_malo.jpg

While I was photographing the boats, a small blue car came to the dock ... and became a great, unexpected addition to this collection of blue stuff.

img_7513_malo.jpg

And now ...

img_7511_malo.jpg

... with the big fishing boat still on its way to the dock ...

img_7509_malo.jpg

... and the last, wider look at the port of Liznjan ... is time to end the post. As always in these walks on HIVE, the photographs are my work - THE END.

I support the "Blue theme"! Moreover, in our region, it finally began to warm and the sky began to delight with warm spring colors)

You are an artist so you see art easily, I looked and didn't see anything until you mentioned the maps, I don't know where they are from but I also saw them, or I was influenced by you, but the truth is that I saw them, the photographs are great, nice post

Thanks :)

Cool blue walk turned out! From the first frame I really liked the boat and wanted to look at it in detail, the next frames were like an answer to this desire, which I did not have time to express:)

:) Thanks, glad you like this blue look at the port.
