#WednesdayWalk : open-air antiquities museum

This post for Wednesday walk challenge. Walk through a small open-air museum. Samara region, outskirts of the village of Krasny Yar. The museum is unofficial, everything built on the site is the result of the work of a local farmer and his assistant. As they say, in the 90s the farmer began to get involved in the history of his native village. Study old maps and documents. In addition, the remains of the ancient defensive moat of the Novo-Zakamskaya defensive line pass not far from its site. In the distant 1700s, this moat protected from nomads from Asia. Today, little is left of it, just a ditch overgrown with grass. In general, several buildings were built on the site - a residential hut (in the title photo), and a palisade with defensive towers. There is also a mill, but last year two blades were torn off by a strong wind ... Recently, the place has become popular - a large number of people come from the city, whole excursions. Many travel with children. By the way, admission to the museum is free. But everyone can donate any amount for development - there is a special box at the entrance :)

23 And this is a sacrificial stone. But it doesn’t contain the blood of those sacrificed to pagan gods - it’s ordinary water, just a recess on the stone is painted with a dye :))

WOW what a place, I love the idea of an open air museum and that one is awesome

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)

Yes, the place is cool :) and in addition, the main difference from classical museums is that you can touch everything with your hands :))

I am very much a hands on person so I would love that

This place is amazing man and what interesting information you provide us with. An open air museum that holds a lot of history. It looks like a medieval village. I loved all the pictures and the details you show us through them. Great 😃

Take some...

It means that the idea of the owner of this place was a success, since it reminds you of a medieval village :)) Thank you for your feedback :))

Amazing place to visit. Beautiful the artefacts around, the skulls and wood that has been carved.
Great captures @chanych85 😎 thanks for sharing with us.
Have a wonderful day today 👋🏻☀️
