My #wednesdaywalk this week comes from abroad. I am currently on vacation near San Sebastian. A beautiful place on the Spanish west coast.
The surroundings here are truly stunning, but hiking is a bit different than in flat Netherlands. After a night with some light rain showers, I went for a short walk in the morning.
A path went up behind the campsite, so I decided to take it. The path immediately went quite steeply uphill. The sun was already rising and was quite warm right away.
From the path, I could see the campsite's swimming pool between the trees; a place where we spend a lot of time this week to cool off in this hot weather.
You could still see small clouds of mist rising from the forest now that the sun was getting stronger.
Further up the mountain, there was a large house. I don't know if someone lives there or if it is used as a vacation home, but the location is beautiful.
Further on, you could look into another valley where more mist was hanging; a beautiful sight.
The combination of mist, the forest, and the sun results in such beautiful pictures!
The following photo is also my submission for the #aroundtheworld challenge.
On the way down, I had to be careful because the path was still damp in many places from the rain.
The lower I got, the more wooded it became. There was also the scent of a rainforest.
A bit further, I saw a sign along the side of the road. It turned out to be an information board for a frog reserve.
Several streams ran through the valley. It is therefore not surprising that it is very moist and very green.
Although the sun was getting stronger, I was still walking fairly in the shade of the trees. It made for some beautiful pictures.
Here is another example of the vegetation; the trees are covered with moss, and there are many ferns.
After a walk of about three kilometers and about 200 meters of elevation, I returned to the campsite. It was a tiring but very beautiful walk.
I hope you enjoyed my #wednesaywalk
