Wednesday Walk - Express walk despite the rain: a little water doesn't hurt anyone. 😃❤️

When it comes to the weather during the trips my friend and I take, we really can't complain. Generally since we started with all this, the weather that we had was always good and allowed us to make the most of our free time. But this is an unpredictable issue until the date of the trip approaches, and if we are just going to have rain on those days, there is no other option than to adapt to it. That was what happened when we were on a walk through the city of Villa La Angostura in the province of Neuquén, and I will share it with you on this Wednesday Walk. Hope you like it ❤️.

When we arrived in this city after touring the surroundings of Bariloche, we already saw that a rather gray day was with us and we hoped that with the passing of the hours the clouds would dissipate but it was not the case. The day after we arrived, we were woken up by a heavy, cold rain that had no intention of stopping. And that's where the dilemma began: since we had little time to spend walking around, we couldn't afford to stay in the hostel, so hoping that the rain would have some mercy, we still went for a walk 😅.

The center of Villa La Angostura was quite close to our accommodation, so we reached it after walking a bit. The day was really bad, but there were quite a few people walking around and doing regular shopping. Despite the fact that we went in autumn, the season was low and it was a weekday, there were quite a few tourists. And it is that this city is only 170 km from Bariloche and it is worth coming to visit it even for an afternoon ❤️.

We took advantage of the exit to look at some stained glass windows and different local businesses. I only say look because this city is quite expensive and most of the prices are designed for tourists who come from far away to visit these places. Actually, all of southern Argentina is expensive, but my friend and I saved enough to go for a walk in the surroundings. Our families already know that our walks are quite thrifty, so they are used to the fact that we hardly ever take any type of souvenir 😅.

While we were walking through the center we came across this sculpture of a creepy? Santa Claus, as we call him in Argentina. I don't know if the intention of this statue was to scare but he succeeded, he looked quite neglected. After staying for a while debating what we were doing, while Santa Claus gave his opinion on the situation, my friend and I decided that the best thing would be to buy something for lunch and return to the hostel. We had already accomplished our purpose of walking a bit, and our feet were wet and icy enough to go on 😅.

The good thing about the city of Villa La Angostura being so touristy is that there was enough supply to buy food so we got a big market where the prices weren't so terrible. Rainy days in Argentina lend themselves to eating anything that includes flour and mate, so for our snack we chose croissants stuffed with ham and cheese. When we got back to the hostel, it didn't take us long to prepare everything and sit down to eat. The small but effective walk made us very hungry 😂.

I was happy with the fact that we were able to put together a good plan despite the bad weather. I would have felt guilty if we had stayed cooped up all day, so my quota of getting some air was fulfilled. I think that we must know how to adapt to the adverse situations that arise: quietly, my friend or I could have been in a bad mood or complaining because the rain took away the possibility of doing one of the walks we had planned, but we preferred to see that afternoon as an opportunity to rest a bit. That is the optimism that I like the most ❤️.
