Wednesday Walk at the Acushnet Sawmill

This post if for Wednesday walk challenge And Make me Smile Collaboration challenge, initially our collaboration was once a month but due to the popularity of it we have decided to make the collab a weekly thing :)

Any questions about the challenge read the guide at the Bottom of the post ;)

For this week I had options on what walk to share but I went with a visit I did to the Acushnet Sawmill, A place near to the Hair Salon where our Daughter in Law used to work, a few months back there lease was not renewed and the salon closed and our Daughter in Law focused on her other work options, which is a long way of what I could have said in short as...

I haven't been to this park for months, and in the past I got kind of bored with it as I wouuld visit is almost once a week when My wife was getting her hair done, I felt the urge to go and check it out as I did always find it peaceful there

Peaceful because being at one with nature and most times I visited there I was the only one there and one could just hear the sounds of nature, well the day I visited there was on the weekend and a nice day and seems many others decided to visit there, but that was kind of nice for two reasons, I always felt it a shame not many people seemed to visit there and secondly they were mostly families with young children and I was glad to see the kids enjoy being in the park and enjoying nature rather than eyes glues to their devices.

I didnt take any photos of the families, I avoid doing that I don't want anyone to think I am a durty old man taking photos of children LOL

this is a little I guess one could call it an outdoor auditorium with stone steps/seats, I did one see a class of school kids sitting there and someone was explaining to them about the park.

the greens just seemed so lush and vibrant at the time I visited there, the pollen counts for trees and grass were high that day, so I had a Gator thingy over my mouth and nose to try and keep my allergies at bay

OK I did get one photo of a child all be it not intentionally, I was about to take a photo of this field and a teen boy ran across the field and ducked down to hide from his family or friends and you can see him crouched down in this next shot

I did a few loops around the trails that day each time with a different lense on and got a bunch of photos

And @elizacheng and I will send to @selflessgem

As @elizacheng and I collaborated with our Wednesday Walk and Make me Smile Challenges

And one person is randomly drawn who joins both challenges to receive one Hive from me and this week it is @TBA

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.

This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines

Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.

Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.

Try and get a few shots not just one

Add a bit of a write up about where you walked

Just one Wednesday Walk tagged post a week

You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.

Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss

Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .

Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.

I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules

I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.

Make me Smile Collaboration

As I mentioned above Wednesday Walk is collaborating with the [Make Me Smile] hosted by @elizacheng,

Here are the rules for her challenge

Your post can be writing, singing, video, poem, drawing, photography etc.... the most important part is your post Make me" smile, Remember, the ME is whoever read/view/listen to your post and this includes YOURSELF.
b. Your content must be ORIGINAL CONTENT
c. Please include at least 50 Words in your post

I hope a few of you may find this an interesting challenge and decide to join in.

unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.

thanks and yes being out in nature did make for a very good day

time to shed some kgs mate

indeed it is

It does look like it is a nice area to walk, and so good to hear that more people visit it on the weekends.
Hehehe I also do that, try and avoid photos of others especially children.
Hope she finds quickly another job.

I joined in today with a short walk while I still lived in Scotland… : 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Church Hill Wood walk and Little Loch Shin in Lairg ~ Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿~ Wednesday Walk
While figuring out how to post about the last part of my move 😎
Have a great Wednesday @tattoodjay 👋🏻😊

it is such a lovely spot I do enjoy walking there

Ohh the daughter in Law has a new job already, she was balancing two semi part time jobs with the hair salon, it closing in a way enabled het to go full time with the other job which is good for them

That’s great… on both.
Sometimes when one door closes the other opens and this turned out well for her to be able to go full time on the other job.

Have a great day further 👋🏻😊

indeed it worked out well for her :)

Cheers

That’s great!
Cheers 🍻

Wow, green and lush is definitely true! Those shots are beautiful. The old amphitheater is really cool. I wonder if they still use it for anything. I could see small concerts being held there and stuff. Thanks for sharing this!

I am not sure if they ever use it for small concerts i had not thought of that but t would be so cool if they did

From what I have seen it is mainly used for school class visits

That is cool too!

👍🙂👍

God bless po!🙏
Bye!👋

Hello dear friend @tattoodjay good day
What a charming place you have visited, I had never read about a hairdresser immersed in nature, it is a really great idea, you will undoubtedly have enjoyed a lot that visit to the hairdresser with your wife
beautiful images, I loved this walk
have a wonderful day

I may not have explained it well this park is about 5 minutes drive from where the hair salon was but close enough for me to visit it whenever my wife went to the salon

you to have a wonderful day

What a beautiful area! Just a pity you have to deal with allergies when you are out enjoying nature such as this!

I do agree with you! It's so nice to see kids out and about enjoying the fresh air and nature instead of being glued to their devices...

You can find my post for this week here.

thanks luckily ( touch wood) my allergies seem to have settles down, but now the smoke from wildfires in Canada have floated out way making the air quality horrible for a few days

I saw those wildfires in Canada. They showed in the news here... Those are some serious fires!

OHh yeah and so many of them, and the smoke is making its way here, today the levels are up again so as much as I want to get out for photowalks I have to be sensible and stay indoors as much as I can

Oh wow! No, it's better to be sensible about it as you say... Are those fires normal for this time of year and do they always affect you like this?

I think the fires often happen at this time, but there was an unusually high amount of them recently so this is the worst I have seen

luckily the levels have dropped back to the god range so lets hope it stays that way

I do hope it will stay that way🤞!

wow.... Like her, I really enjoyed and loved your shot today.
And I also participated in this Sunday's wednesdaywalk challenge.

As always wonderful pictures and am loving all that greenery amidst the bright blue sky. That looks like such a peaceful place to walk and take in deep breaths of fresh air, the trees are definitely giving off a lot of pure oxygen. Thank you for sharing and keep enjoying your week :}

thanks for your visit, yes I love walks in nature, mind you not so much now with the air quality from the wild fires in Canada, they are keeping me indoors

Stunning green scenery, @tattoodjay. Oh how I love this time of year!

It’s good to be back! https://peakd.com/hive-155530/@jayna/wednesday-walk-on-the-trails-with-my-dog

Ohh yeah I love this time of year as well, mind you that said the haze from the fires in Canada is making air quality pretyt bad here the last few days and has kept me indoors

Walking in the middle of nature can recharge our soul because of the fresh air.
Have a nice day! Here's my participation.
