Wednesday Walk for the birds
This post if for Wednesday walk challenge And Make me Smile Collaboration challenge, initially our collaboration was once a month but due to the popularity of it we have decided to make the collab a weekly thing :)

For this weeks walk, I had a couple of options, over the last week most of my walks have been either on trails in one of the many reserves here, but as I shared one of those walks last week, I thought for this week I should share something different, and the other walks I have been taking have been with my longer lenses trying to catch some images of birds and that what I will focus on for this post.
I am not saying these are all great shots, but better images of birds than I have got previously so I feel I am improving at this field of photography.

Now there are two spots I have been going to primarily to try and catch images of birds, on the harbor walk to try and catch some shots of the Osprey, but that will be for another post, and as yet still haven't got shots I am happy with fully of the Osprey, and the subject of this post birds in Buttownwood Park.
Starting with a couple of shots of this what I believe is a hawk I saw just the other day

ON this mornings walk after catching a beautiful sunrise I walked around the pond in the park, and saw these two Canadian Geese guarding their nest and eggs

and also this morning ( as I prepare the post) I saw this heron in one of the water ways off the pond

and speaking of Geese, when I zoomed in one the little Island on the pond I saw these two having a bit of a battle for turf, the one on the left just landed on the island and the other came racing over to chase it away immediately

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
Add a bit of a write up about where you walked
Just one Wednesday Walk tagged post a week
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .
Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules
I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.

Happy WednesdayWalk. Nice bird photos. I agree that the hawks are the best shots. I believe the bird in the last shot is a red-winged blackbird. I look forward to watching you figure out bird photography 🙂 Your seascapes and sunrise/sunset shots are so well done, I'm sure you will master bird photography too.

I have always struggled with bird photography, but this year I am doing better learning the new lens and the settings have a few shots I am very happy with

I have in the past struggled to get good photos of birds so very happy with some of the shots I have got of recent, have more to share in future posts but will mix it up
thats an awesome powerup, I have been debating with myself to take some HBD out of savings but haven't as yet
there was especially good point when HBD price dropped to 0.42 - 0.44 (tho I missed it). not sure which option is better, but I made a decision and feel good about it. 🤸
As long as you feel good about it them its the right decision, I probably should have done the same, but Ohh well, lets hope continues to climb

Those shots of the hawk are awesome! It looks like your walks have been very productive in terms of photo ops! I was able to take some nice walks this past weekend too. I didn't get many shots, but it was just nice to be out and about!

Wow… I’m impressed with these shots.
The bird is indeed a hawk, young one. What a capture. Great photographs of it.
And the heron in the water and it’s reflection… amazing, love that photograph. So much details and the colours are just fitting the movement it makes. It draws your eye in perfectly.
The geese are cute standing over and caring about their eggs.
Keep going, these captures are truly great. You should be proud of them. 😁😎🤩

Aha you have the red-winged black birds over there too, they are nice and tame and will sometimes dive bomb you if you get too close tot their nests.
I was trying to remember when I prepared the post who it was that mention them dive bombing, noew I know it was you, zi was watching them closely on this walk LOL

I always say this challenge is not about great photos but sharing what you see on a walk, and talking a bit about it, look around on your next walk you may be surprised what you see

Lovely birds, @tattoodjay! That heron shot is amazing. The birds you weren’t sure about are redwing blackbirds. We have many of them here. They love marsh areas and cattails.
