Wednesday Walk Through the cemetery
This post if for Wednesday walk challenge And Make me Smile Collaboration challenge, initially our collaboration was once a month but due to the popularity of it we have decided to make the collab a weekly thing :)
Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
Add a bit of a write up about where you walked
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .
Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules
I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.

As I mentioned above Wednesday Walk is collaborating with the [Make Me Smile] hosted by @elizacheng,
Here are the rules for her challenge
Your post can be writing, singing, video, poem,drawing, photography etc.... the most important part is your post Make me" smile, Remember, the ME is whoever read/view/listen to your post and this includes YOURSELF.
b. Your content must be ORIGINAL CONTENT
c. Please include at least 50 Words in your post

Makes me think of the end of life here on earth...
I wonder if I shall see my Dad and Mom and my two brothers again.
I assumed it was for a veteran as well

That crypt looks quite old; how old is that cemetery? I know MA has quite a few old ones in Boston, but I have never visited anything out of the city before. It almost reminds me of the old stone shelters/cellars out by you that I've seen online before.
It goes back to the 1800s I believe

Oh wow, an actual tomb, that is pretty nuts. Those are some pretty fancy headstones too. It is surprising how much some of those cost sometimes. Awesome shots! I am glad that you are finding good places to continue your Wednesday walks. I know getting out daily was special to you!
I have not seen anyone getting so excited about a tomb in a cemetery so far.
It's just pretty cool. You don't see many of those earthen berm types where I live. Unless it is vault or something.
It is such a cool and well maintained cemetery there is quite a few of those tombs

Love cemeteries and wow how mysterious is that old tomb- reminds me of the cairns or burial mounds in the UK.

There are many interesting things to see on a cemetary, so many names of which some mind sound familiar. I like these old gravestones and a look inside of such an old tomb would be cool, but not during the night ;)
First shot is excellent, JJ, it gives the cemetary a calm and warm look.

It really is such a lovely walk. Peace washes over me at these beautiful cemeteries. I find it interesting, all the different stones and statues. Such lovely sendoffs they were given.
I wonder why they didn't take that tree down?

Thanks I do love walking there, With the Ecclipse this morning I considered taking a walk earlier toi see if I could catch it but after a few rough nights sleep I just coulndt find the motivation LOl maybe this evening
Cementries make the most interesting walks, I really enjoy reading the info on grave sights, sad as it is. You captured some artistically creatively designed headstones, it says a lot about people. My dad had his tombstone organised so I guessing this is what people generally do?
I do love walking through older cemetries, looking at the tombstones reading the names and thinking how the area must have been in their times
funny thing is though I have no interest to be buried in one, I would prefer to be cremated and my ashes dropped into the ocean or a river, that way if people want to think of me when I am gone they dont have to go to a set spot in a cemetry but can go to anywhere there is water :)
Beautiful post and photos Jay! That first photo is gorgeous! I always love walking through the old cemeteries! I've wanted to walk through a very old one near here but it is in a not so great area now and my husband has been reluctant to go but time will tell I guess. 💖
