What I want to share with you today in this illustration is a little trick that helps me give a little more life to my comic book illustrations. I'll tell you at the right time.
Lo que hoy quiero compartirles en esta ilustración es un pequeño truco que me ayuda a darle un poco más de vida a mis ilustraciones tipo cómic. Ya les diré en el momento oportuno.
In principle, I start with a sketch of anatomy: the head, neck and the most important parts of the face: eyes, nose and mouth.
En principio, comienzo con un boceto de anatomía: la cabeza, el cuello y las partes mas importantes del rostro: ojos, nariz y boca.
I like thin line comics. So I used a thin line for my silhouette, it gives more prominence to the color.
Me gustan los cómic de línea delgada. Así que usé una línea delgada para mi silueta, así le doy más protagonismo al color.
This is why I wanted to give prominence to color: I used a very vibrant palette.
Es por esto que quería dar prominencia al color: utilicé una paleta muy vibrante.
In a new layer, in multiply mode reducing the opacity, I paint the shaded areas blue.
En una nueva capa, coloqué en modo multiplicar reduciendo la opacidad, pintando de azul las zonas sombreadas.
And here is my simple trick that changes the mood of any illustration: I created a clipping mask that will only cover the entire silhouette of my girl. I painted it in degradation from sand to a very soft brown, well blurred.
Y acá mi truco sencillo que le cambia el mood a cualquier ilustración: Creé una máscara de recorte que sólo cubrirá toda la silueta de mi chica. Pinté en degradación desde arena a un marrón muy suave, bien difuminado.
This is the result. In just one easy step, a comic book illustration comes to life.
Éste es el resultado. En tan solo un paso sencillo, una ilustración tipo cómic toma vida.
An then, I added the phrase, hand written.
Y finalmente agrego la frase, escrita a a mano.
