Artemis Shares: Celebrating Street Art

in OnChainArt4 years ago

Art has been on my radar this week - not only paintings, sketchings and gallery kind-of-art, but street art too. Getting out and about with quarantine restrictions easing, it is a pleasure to redefine the communal, public spaces as an open, free gallery instead of scary places for potential infection.

Like every artist, I am learning that we way we frame ideas and images shapes their meaning.

And so today I wanted to CELEBRATE #streetart on Hive! The creations that make us think - the colours that transform ugly grey concrete and the expression which invites us to think, feel and participate in a global dialogue about new paradigm society.

Please reblog, upvote, tip and comment generously.

The 4 Hivians featured here today are all post beneficiaries - @artemisshares is about celebrating content, growing community and creating abundance.

It was THIS epic post that made me decide to celebrate street art today. Teaching a young man, honouring influencers, creating art, dreaming of freedom to only create and be - there is something so quintessentially Hive about the community and ideals shared so freely and expressively here. Encore un trompe-l'oeil et de l'urban-art à Montpellier

The incredible transformation of an ugly plain concrete wall into a genteel parisian streetscape - it shows a hope of refinement and leaves one wondering about the difference between urban art as self expression and urban art as mural to smooth and massage the raw urban face into a facade of how life "should be". I'm lucky enough to have walked the antique bridge depicted here AND seen this mural in central Vietnam! Street art as an agent of history and culture where commerce has long since taken over and defaced the original landscape with its relentless drive for profit. Read more...

Street Art Around Chiang Mai

The ancient walled city of Chiang Mai in Thailand (conveniently Home for @artemisshares right now) celebrates street art within the Old Moat area of the original city, which dates back to the late 1200s. Every few weeks there is something new. Enjoying to see the street art still flourishing even while tourism isn't. Read more...

@artemisshares is a simple, private curation project run by @artemislives. The goal? To increase exposure and rewards for great content that doesn't always get the recognition it deserves. Today it might be 3 healthful posts, tomorrow it might be 3 posts about freedom, red cars, crypto or dogs. As the mood takes me.

Each post featured here is a post beneficiary and the remainder used to build a juicier upvote. Because I believe in encouragement and at the end of a curating session, there are ALWAYS a few posts I'd like to do more for.

ENJOY
