Hello, Hiver friends and fellow art lovers! A blissful Sunday to everyone, I hope you are all doing well. I want to share the new coffee painting I created today.
This coffee painting captures the magical streams that flow through the deep forest. The glowing light of the morning evokes a feeling of calmness and a quiet moment.
I used three painting brushes to complete this piece, which took me an hour. For those interested in trying this unique medium, follow the step-by-step basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
π Watercolor Paper, sketching Paper, or stretched canvas
π Pencil and Eraser
π Coffee Powder
π 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
π Ruler
π Clean Water
π Rag
π Paper napkin or paper towel
Brushes:
π Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
π Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
π Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.
Basic Procedure:
β’ Outline or sketch your painting reference.
β’ Paint using a lighter background shade by creating a beautiful texture.
β’ On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
β’ The same procedure as the foreground.
β’ Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
β’ Then add details to bring your painting to life. I used a liner brush for the thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.

Wow, that stream and light combo nailed it, the coffee medium works better than I expected for that glow in the trees. The lighter background makes the whole scene breathe. Trying it myself now.
