I called this facepainting "The rivers of conscience". It is mainly done with just using my fingers on my skin. It is a pure joy of sensory experience for me. The lines & dots were done with a brush. I must confess to you that it feels amazing to do your facepainting with just your fingers. I feel like I am painting, and my own canvas is... Me!

I thought about our duality as human beings. We have a good side and a bad side. We have qualities and flaws. We take great decisions and horrible ones as well.
I wanted to illustrate that in the end, the two sides end up meeting in the middle: the heart. The orange colorful reddish lake of emotions. Our heart is the one who puts the salt into the food, the forgiveness into a glass of hatred, the love into a deserted soul. We are nothing without our mind, but we are incomplete without a happy heart.

I always have the faith that most of the people are good and that they themselves want to tame their bad side. I have a strong belief in the power of the humans to change for the better. In their own pace, in their own way. Each and every one of us has their own clock. We should not look next door and compare ourselves to others. We are unique and our road in life is unique. Copying what the majority of people do does not guarantee true happiness.

We have our own time to grow, to love, to forgive, to change, to cry, to laugh and to live. Our duality is what makes us special. It is like when salt water meets fresh water in the ocean. There is that moment of demarcation which can't be identical each and every time.

So let the rivers flow and lead you towards your destiny. Have faith that you are destined for greatness! The though of that will never fail you.

Hey Alejandra! You are so right, it does feel like I am a kid playing with colours and getting dirty without caring. It is such a great experience to just let yourself go in the act of creation and forget about the norms and rules of doing things.
Our own way is the only way. I have found that we tend to feel a lot of anxiety when we force ourselves to walk away from our dreams and to try to copy others. I guess the fear of being an outcast, a misfit, makes a lot of people conform. In what they do for a living, in their personal choices, in the way they look at society.

Hey! Thank you very much for appreciating this work of art! Our duality is fascinating. I find it amazing how the same person can be full of love towards someone and the opposite towards another. I think that in the end we all want to be good, but out feelings, emotions, egos and impulsivity stay in our way.
I believe we need to constantly remind ourselves that we have to be able to go within ourselves and find who we are and how we want to live on this Earth. Because for as long as we breathe, we can always change. It is up to us if we do it for the better or for the worst.
