Hello, good day Hive community. I hope everything goes well.

In my particular case, things go like the Titanic but here I am, writing another entry for the blog.

Today I bring you another illustration of the Greek mythology project.

🔮 🌑 🐍 🌑 🔮

Like the previous time, here I left you a little description of the main character of this time.

Wikipedia
In Greek mythology, Medusa (/mɪˈdjuːzə, -sə/; Μέδουσα "guardian, protectress")[1] also called Gorgo, was one of the three monstrous Gorgons, generally described as winged human females with living venomous snakes in place of hair.

🔮 🌑 🐍 🌑 🔮

For the design of this card, I didn’t have an idea of what I want to do, it was after reading the mythological lore that I had a better idea of the character.

Medusa did nothing wrong.

I wanted the medusa card to be the prettiest of all the cards because her story seems very sad and unfair to me, I wanted to give her a proper tribute. Medusa did nothing wrong.

As a side note, the medusa card was the first one I did, so the background is hardcore painting and it is the card that has more time and effort.

🔮 🌑 🐍 🌑 🔮

I started the sketch in paper and took a photo to redraw it in the pc.

I made the lines to fix the character and polish the environment elements I wanted to conserve. My idea was to put the character inside a cave, a dark place, but the character is illuminated anyway so you can take a full look at her.

2.jpg

I started making the background to define the tones and colors of the environment.

3.jpg

Defining the light source, I proceeded to paint the character and the other elements. It was particularly hard to give that look of rocks even using hard and texture brushes, hehe. Define the shape was a difficult thing.

5.jpg

The last thing I painted was the 'hair'. I painted each snake one by one. I added a green tone to make it look like snakes scales and this is the final result.

Aquí les dejo un GIF del proceso.

Here I left you an animated gif of the process.

🔮 🌑 🐍 🌑 🔮

It makes a little sad the Medusa story; I hope my illustration makes her some justice.

I hope you like my illustration as much as I did. Thank you very much for the support of my drawings and paintings and took the time to read my entry.
