Esta es una práctica que hice para el curso de pintura digital de Scott Harris, me encantó el resultado.
This is the result of a drawing I made for Scott Harris’s digital painting course. I loved the result and wanted to share it!
El dibujo es súper simple, se trata de una imagen que había hecho con anterioridad de una elfa embarazada. La idea de este dibujo viene de una novela corta de rol que estaba escribiendo hace algún tiempo donde su protagonista es Minala, uno de mis elfas de role play, viviendo felizmente una vida Utópica con una familia.
The drawing is super simple; it is about a pregnant elf. The concept for this drawing comes from a role-play short novel I was writing some time ago where its protagonist is Minala, one of my role-playing elves, happily living her life inside a Utopian fantasy.

Para complementar la novela hice estos bosquejos que son los protagonistas. De estos bosquejos rescaté el de la derecha, el de ella misma embarazada.
To complement the novel I made these sketches of the protagonists.
From these sketches, I reused the one from the right, of the pregnant elf.

Tuve que re hacer el dibujo porque las proporciones no estaban del todo bien, busque referencias para la mujer y para el vestido, usé un vestido que existe dentro de World of Warcraft que me gusta mucho.
I had to redo the drawing because the proportions were not quite right; I looked over for references for the woman and for the dress. I used a dress that exists in World of Warcraft I really like.
Siempre es bueno utilizar referencias amiwos, no se dejen engañar por los puristas como yo lo fui alguna vez
It always good to use references friends, don’t let you trick by the purist as I was once.

Después de esto, apliqué los colores planos.
After this, I added the flat colors.
La práctica consiste en hacer un coloreado sencillo usando como baso los mismos colores planos, haciendo uso de gradientes para lograr una especie de cel-shading muy suave y sencillo pero efectivo.
The practice consists of making a simple coloring using the same flat colors as a base, making use of gradients to make a kind of very smooth and simple but effective cel-shading.
Se ve fácil pero es más difícil de lo que parece, a veces lo simple termina siendo no tan simple jeje.
It looks easy but it is harder than I expected. Something the simplest thing turned to be not that simple.
Honestamente el estilo me ha encantado y ya quisiera probarlo con los otros personaje que he hecho.
Honestly, I loved the result. I would really like to apply it to the other characters too.
