Hello friends of the community, I greet all the cartoonists and artists and I wish you have a good start to the week. I want to start this day by showing you my last drawing where I explain the process to achieve it. It is about a girl on a bed in a somewhat sensual pose looking at herself in the mirror. It is a drawing where the contrast between light and shadow plays a lot. In step by step I explain how I started to make the sketch until it was finished. I hope you like it and it helps you also venture to draw.
Hola amigos de la comunidad, saludo a todos los dibujantes y artistas y deseo que tengan un buen inicio de semana. Quiero comenzar este dia mostrandoles mi ultimo dibujo donde explico el proceso para lograrlo. Se trata de una chica en una cama en una pose un tanto sensual mirandose al espejo. Es un dibujo donde juega mucho el contraste entre luz y sombra. En el paso a paso explico como comencé a hacer el boceto hasta finalizarlo. Espero les guste y les sirva para tambien aventurarse a dibujar.
For this drawing I chose a piece of Fabriano paper weighing 260 grams. This paper is commonly used to paint in watercolors. When I paint with my colors I like to use it because its texture allows me to use mineral oil to mix the colors and achieve new tones.
Elegi para este dibujo un retazo de papel Fabriano de 260 gramos. Este papel es comunmente usado para pintar en acuarelas. Cuando pinto con mis colores me gusta usarlo porque su textura me permite usar aceite mineral para mezclar los colores y lograr nuevos tonos.
Here we have 3 parts of the body that make up the image. Lza head and shoulders, back and legs. To make the head we use an oval, we take the size of the oval and with it we will make the distances of each shoulder. For the back we lean on an image to see how the line would look and we will make that little arch that ends in the legs.
Aqui tenemos 3 partes del cuerpo del que se compone la imagen. Lza cabeza y los hombros, la espalda y las piernas. Para hacer la cabeza usamos un ovalo, tomamos el tamaño del ovalo y con el haremos la distancias de cada hombro. Para la espalda nos apoyamos en una imagen para ver como quedaria la linea y haremos ese pequño arco que finaliza en las piernas.
To delineate the shoulder and back we use the guide lines and then we draw the contour until we get the shape. The line we draw in the sketch does not necessarily need to be followed to the letter, but we must have an idea of how this line helps us to imagine the shape in our mind.
Para ir delineando el hombro y la espalda nos servimos de las lineas guias y hasi vamos dibujando el contorno hasta sacar la forma. No necesariamente sebe seguirse al pie de la letra la linea que trazamos en el boceto pero si debemos tener una idea de como esta linea nos ayuda a imaginar la forma en nuestra mente.
Continuing with the previous process we proceed to draw the rest of the body. The curve of the middle of the back is finished in the butt. Then we delineate the legs with soft and loose lines to give it shape and then with shorter and more precise strokes we make the best details.
Siguiendo con el proceso anterior procedemos a dibujar el resto del cuerpo. La curva de la mitad dela espalda la finalizamos en el trasero. Luego las piernas la delineamos con lineas suaves y sueltas para darle forma y luego con trazos mas cortos y precisos hacemos los mejores detalles.
To finish with the body we make the head and draw the hair using fast and loose lines. We also started adding the details of the bed, the curtains and a mirror that reflects the front of the girl's body.
Para finalizar con el cuerpo hacemos la cabeza y dibujamos el cabello usando lineas rapidas y sueltas. Tambien comenzamos agregar los detalles de la cama, las cortinas y un espejo que refleja la parte frontal del cuerpo de la chica.
After adding a little more shadow to the details around the girl we began to add color. For this case I used some watercolors faber castell school colors. These colors can be diluted with water or mineral oil, however I used them to give the first layers because they have a hard lead and help to outline. Also taking advantage of the paper and the pores that the hard lead has, it usually leaves residues that when using a diluent helps us to achieve that watercolor effect. The colors used in this first coat have been light brown and soft orange. We also put white in the parts where the light reflects off the skin and that contrasts with the dark parts.
Luego de agregar un poco mas de sombra a los detalles alrededor de la chica comenzamos a agregar color. Para este caso usé unos colores faber castell escolares acuareleables. Estos colores pueden diluirse con agua o con aceite mineral sin embargo los use para dar las primeras capas porque tienen la mina dura y ayuda delinear. Tambien aprovechando el papel y los poros que posee la mina dura suele dejar residuos que al usar un diluyente nos ayuda a conseguir ese efecto de acuarela. Los colores usados en esta primera capa han sido cafe claro y narnja suave. Tambien ponemos color blanco en las partes donde la luz se refleja en la piel y que hace contraste con las partes oscuras.
After using faber castell colors use the 48 color premier prismacolor colors. These are different, with a soft lead, they allow you to paint on top of the faber castell. Use darker tones and a few lighter ones to give contrast to the skin that is in the darkest part of the shadows.

At this point I used baby oil as a mixer with a cat's tongue brush that I made myself. In the second image you can see the detail of the oil acting on the color and the part that has not been wet with oil. We pass the brush over the entire part that we paint with color and we obtain this result. After this we recolor using from dark colors to lighter ones where we should highlight light.
En este punto use aceite para bebes como mezclador un un pincel lengua de gato que construi yo mismo. En la segunda imagen puede apreciarse el detalle del aceite actuando sobre el color y la parte que no ha sido mojada con aceite. Pasamos el pincel por toda la parte que pintamos con color y obtenemos este resultado. Luego de esto volvemos a colorear usando desde los colores oscuros hasta los mas claros donde debamos resaltar luz.
To paint the hair we use prismacolor black, dark brown, light brown and some pastel cream color to accentuate highlights. We go over the body again with colors and give another touch with the brush, and we also reinforce the shadows of the bed and curtains and give the final finishes.
Para pintar el cabello usamos color negro prismacolor, cafe oscuro, cafe claro y algo de color crema pastel para acentuar luces. Repasamos otra vez el cuerpo con colores y damos otro toque con el pincel, y tambien reforzamos las sombras de la cama y las cortinas y damos los acabados finales.
So we have our drawing of a girl in bed. I have to confess I really like to make this type of drawings where the female body intervenes and to be able to pin the skin when light and shadows are at stake. I hope you liked it and have been able to appreciate in detail in each step. It is not impossible or difficult to draw and paint in this way, we owe everything to practice and concentration. Asi nos queda nuestro dibujo de una chica en la cama. He de confesar me gusta mucho hacer este tipo de dibujos donde interviene el cuerpo femenino y poder pinar la piel cuando la luz y las sombras estan en juego. Espero que les haya gustado y hayan podido apreciar al detalle en cada paso. No es impoisible ni dificil dibujar y pintar de esta manera, todo se lo debemos a la práctica y a la concentración.
