Laying down on the job

Hello and good morning all!
Today I'll share another fun piece I carved last year.

A 2ft long lazy moose. Sometimes my customers come up with some great ideas. I was happy it wasn't a bear lol.

Normally I'll carve the logs standing up vertically but this project had to be laid down horizontal.

Here it is after just a few cuts with the chainsaw.
Doesnt look like much yet, I had to figure out the antlers as they just didnt look right.

So I cut them off and attached a new piece big enough for the antlers. Now to finish shaping.

Here's a couple photos of it after shaping and minor detailing.

Unfortunately I didn't get any footage of the burning and painting process. Here it is finished.

This was a fun piece that for a moment broke up the monotony of carving bears.

My clients sometimes send me pictures of their sculptures displayed. She was very happy.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I saw, if so, feel free to upvote and reblog.
Thank you,
Jon
