I have been working for a few days on a new collection of Cute Christmas Houses 😊
Version 1
Version 2
Version 3
Version 4
Version 5
The Process
It all starts with a sketch.
I use Photoshop and Wacom Intuos 5 M to make a quick rough sketch of the ideas I have
Then I use the sketch as a guide in Adobe Illustrator and I create a vector file
These files will be cut on different cutting machines like Cricut, Silhouette, Glowforge, Epilog, CO2, Beamo, Etc. so I have to prepare them so are compatible with them.
For laser cutting machines I spread the layers so they can cut multiple layers from a single sheet of material
Example:
Now is time for the presentation to have an idea of how it would look in real life 😊
I import the vector SVG file in Blender and I give it dimension
Examples from Blender
To create a more realistic look I use Maverick Studio to render the 3D objects exported from Blender
I try different materials and light environments. I use a photo as a backdrop to render it faster and it feels like is almost real. I try to match the direction of the light with that on the backdrop.
Here are more renders with a touch of Photoshop 😊
Renders look nice but people also want the real thing, so I give the files for testing to different crafters around the world.
Here are some examples of real photos this time cut on Glowforge and other Laser Cutting Machines
If you have a cutting machine and you want to create these cute houses then you can get them from my Pixaroma Shop
Which house version is your favorite?
