A dragon is an imaginary creature, and the blue dragon is one of the four gods, along with the white tiger, the red bird, and the Genbu, the guardian god of the East and a happy sign. This painting dynamically depicts the feeling that the dragon is about to ascend to the heavens and pour rain on us.

竜とは想像上の生き物で、青竜は白虎、朱雀、玄武とともに四神のひとつで、東の守護神でありめでたいしるしとされます。この絵は竜がいまにも天に昇って雨を降らそうという感じをダイナミックに描きました。
