"Sisters"

I wonder what sisters were to me. We were not particularly close, but I remember when my sisters cared for my father who had cancer. We took turns bringing home the laundry, washing it, and bringing it back. We also went shopping. We were able to do that rather smoothly through cooperative play, so I thought we were close to that extent. But my father died, and a few years later my sister died. My brother lives far away, but we are not very close.
Here I tried to depict sisters who will always be close.

「姉妹」

私にとって姉妹って何だったんだろうと思います。特別仲が良かったわけでもありませんが、癌になった父を姉妹で介護したのは覚えています。交代で、洗濯物を持って帰って、洗濯して、また持っていって。買い出しにも行って。それは割と連携プレーでスムーズにこなせたから、その程度には仲も良かったのかなと思いました。でも父は死に、数年後に姉も死にました。兄が遠くに住んでいますが、あまり仲がいいとは言えません。
ここではいつまでも仲の良い姉妹を描いてみました。

Hmmm that's a little sad. I got close to myself as we got older and now we're like best friends.
