HI GUYS
Today, I did a quick study of the Mangbetu tribe of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They are famous for their hairstyles that defies nature. They practice an art of head elongation which is known as "LIPOMBO". Where their cranium were stretched by using tight cords on the head from childhood.
Lipombo as a tradition was a form of beauty which was later emulated by different neighboring tribes, and which evolved to be a trademark for beauty in Congo before colonization took over.
Though, the tradition seems to lead to a form of cranial deformation, to them the accentuated brain cavity increases the intelligence of the child. Their braiding on the head is so unique, and the hairstyle is what got me to these beautiful humans.
