The harmony of warm and cold shadows. Гармония тёплых и холодных теней

All artists are well aware that there are two types of shadows – their own and falling. A lot depends on their correct reproduction in the drawing, for example, how the scene will be perceived in terms of illumination and general mood.
In my drawing, it is perfectly clear that the own shadows of fences, houses and especially balconies are warm. At the same time, the falling shadows from the vegetation and buildings on the left are lilac and cold. This harmonious combination of two polar temperatures creates a unique atmosphere in the picture, where the viewer immediately has the image of a sunny morning Italian town.
Все художники хорошо знают, что тени бывают двух видов – собственные и падающие. От правильного их воспроизведения в рисунке зависит очень многое, например то, как будет восприниматься сцена с точки зрения освещённости и общего настроения.
В моём рисунке отлично видно, что собственные тени оград, домов и особенно балконов – тёплые. В то же время падающие тени от растительности и зданий слева сиреневые и холодные. Именно это гармоничное сочетание двух полярных температур создаёт неповторимую атмосферу в картине, где у зрителя сразу возникает образ солнечного утреннего итальянского городка.
