Merry Christmas to you my strong and invincible people! (EN/UA)

Hi to all! Merry and prosperous Christmas to all who celebrate it according to the Julian calendar. We all know that Christmas has a single date of December 25. But several countries still celebrate it in the old style and therefore their December 25th falls on January 7th. Maybe my country will dare and switch to a new, more accurate calendar, and we will celebrate it with most countries on December 25.

However, I remember the village and how my grandmother cooked dinner on December 6. Everyone at home had to observe a strict fast. My grandmother prayed and prepared 12 dishes. When the first star rose in the sky, we sat down at the table. We prayed. Dishes were laid out on the table. I really loved this moment. And I loved the taste of kuti. My grandmother made kutyu from wheat and honey. She said that this was the traditional kutya in her family. And then we caroled. I was little, but I remembered my happy family.

I sometimes wonder what will change from changing the date of Christmas? And here it is definitely necessary to look from the beginning of Christianity in Kievan Rus. When Prince Volodymyr converted to Christianity in 988, people did not want to accept the new faith. I think that is why our rites are so tightly intertwined with pagan rites. That is probably why in Ukraine they celebrate from Roman to Jordan (Baptism)
Therefore, changing the date of the celebration will actually change a lot, and almost everything. All important church holidays in the year will change their dates. We will need to completely change our church calendar and adopt it. Over time, it will become a habit. I think everything can be changed and adjusted, but all that is needed is the desire to do so.

On the other hand, I am sure that the holiday of Christmas is much deeper and does not depend on the date. You just need to understand the essence of the celebration, that the son of God was born as an ordinary child in a manger in an ordinary family more than 2 thousand years ago.
Christmas is within us! The whole family is at the table on this day - it's Christmas! Love and harmony in the family is Christmas!
CHRISTMAS is the most beautiful holiday of all in the whole year. I love the smell of the Christmas tree and the twinkling of the lights. It is such a beautiful tradition to prepare for the Christmas holidays.
Today is Christmas night in my Ukraine. Merry Christmas to you my strong and invincible people! Peace and security to Ukraine! Glory to the soldiers who fight for the Ukrainian land every day.
