From the beginning of August, all of Italy lives with anticipation of the holiday! Ferragosto is coming! This holiday falls on August 15. Everyone is looking forward to this holiday. Especially those who worked tirelessly all year. After all, the Ferragosto holiday is connected with the beginning of vacations. Italians try to go on holiday to the sea or to the mountains in whole families, which one likes more.

Від початку серпня вся Італія живе передчуттям свята! Наближається Ferragosto! Це свято приходиться на 15 серпня. Всі чекають цього свята з нетерпінням. Особливо ті, хто цілий рік невтомно працював. Адже свято Ferragosto пов'язано з початком відпусток. Італійці цілими сім'ями стараються виїхати на відпочинок др моря або в гори, кому що більше подобається.
This holiday has ancient pre-Christian roots. Back in the 1st century BC during the heyday of the Roman Empire, Emperor Activian was renamed Augustus for his victories. The eighth month was named August in honor of the great emperor. They began to celebrate the holiday as the end of field work and harvest. People started to say "Buona Festa agosto!" , which has come down to our days as "Buon ferragosto!.
In the 5th century, this holiday was combined with the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin and is celebrated to this day.
