The Meaning of Honor

My dad taught me the meaning of honor.

I must've been... seven years old? A kid. My dad took me to the Carnival on the dramatized count of losing an inconsequential bet. After the festivities, we were heading back home in our old Honda Civic. Our mouths and minds filled with sodium infused buttered popcorn. And song.*

When our tire broke.

Watusi Woman - The Baubau, Bonerate & Bodo Sailor

The next part of our journey is from Baubau to Bonerate, still part of the Sulawesi Islands, then onwards south to Gili Bodo near Flores.

Bonerate was an overnight sail of 147nm and 27 hours. It was a stunning night with a beautiful sunset followed by an amazing moonset, the a pitch black sky with a gazillion stars. The anchorage at Bonerate is just off a little beach, with white sand, wonderful coral and a lovely little village not far away.

Being there for others when they are in need of help is a form of humbleness, being able to show empathy, to offer a hand and advice if needed. Most of the time all it takes is listening, a skill that many have lost in our busy world where a lot of people are mostly concerned with moving on in life.

The song I'll stand by you by The Pretenders is simply a beautiful song, first released in 1994. It has a powerful message sung with an equally powerful voice as expected by Chrissie Hynde.

A hike through the forest and the first riding lesson in Cladova

If you have ever visited a hilly area with a very large expanse of forest with many narrow dirt roads leading into the heart of the forest, here time stands still, the only sounds you hear are those of footbridges and the river winding through the forest, old abandoned houses, very friendly locals, this is Cladova in short.

Today we are going together to Cladova, but to get there I had to follow the National Road 7 (a very important road that connects Romania to the rest of Europe) for a few kilometers until I came across a sign indicating us to turn left, from here begins the foray to Cladova.

Experimentando ICM-Experiencing ICM (Eng-Pt)

A combination of gray days without any interesting light, no opportunity to travel and an unphotogenic neighborhood were determining factors in almost two weeks of photographic abstinence.

The need to hear the sound of the trigger became intolerable.

So I decided to experiment with ICM (Intentional Camera Movement).

Painter Stranger

This is a reply to @theinkwell on the week 83 prompt, chatterbox. I hope you all enjoyed it.

Benny was an Italian adventurer and photographer who kept weekend hikes in the woods close to his heart like a magnet to a metal gate. The autumn breeze on this particular Roman Saturday morning swept red and yellow lightly from the woodland trees across the air. The birds chirped, the squirrels raced and as usual, Benny took a knee at a distance from the deer and looked through his DSLR camera with his left brown eye.

Because Salvation is so Far Away

I'm once again going to dip my ever so dainty hobbit toes into the tepid water of creation and hopefully kickstart this little brain of mine into something resembling shape, form, possibly even an aneurism.

That or this continuous mental push will result in a little brown nugget that requires a hot shower, only time will tell.

Breathe deep and join me with a small mental exercise. A journey of infinitesimal proportions, an adventure full of pointless syllables and minor deficiencies of the mind.
