Hey, everybody! I'm sharing with you another of my Best Games played online on Lichess.org. This game has been selected using a series of criteria to consider it among the best games, to which I add my own subjective appreciation and comments. I hope you like it!

English Opening: Agincourt Defense

This is a game from the Hive Chess Tournament this week. It was against drak0nb and I had the white pieces. After trying to play a closed English, the game opened up as my opponent didn't try to keep the position closed and started an attack on the kingside with a kind of artificial ...h5-h4. When that kind of thing happens, there is a well-known principle that rules that you should counterattack in the center when your opponent starts a lateral attack, and that's what I did with the move 11. d4! just in time to generate enough play that overcomes black's attempts of initiative. My opponent neglected the center and the kind safety and soon he ended up in a losing position. The lesson is to resort to the classical principles to guide you throughout the game.
