I listened to this work on Amazon Audible.
Well, this was rather good, wasn't it?
It's a manageable length too, taking just about three hours to breeze through.
Amazon Audible is running a 99-yen unlimited reading fair, so I recommend giving it a quick read.
While M2E-ing, of course.
This book had received high praise on YouTube and elsewhere, so I decided to give it a read, and I found it rather interesting.
This work won the Akutagawa Prize, so you might think it's a serious novel, but personally I found it absolutely hilarious as pure entertainment.
The part where he proposed was absolutely brilliant.🤣
Why on earth would you propose marriage there? It's just laughable.
And the man in question is utterly finished as a human being.😅
And finally, it ended with a feeling of "No, no, no, is that really how it should end?"🤣
Well... it did win the Akutagawa Prize, so it does contain serious elements like satire of modern society and such, but I suppose one could just ignore all that.
It's full of laugh-out-loud moments, delightfully subverting the notion that Akutagawa Prize-winning works are serious novels.
Also, I worked part-time at a convenience store when I was a university student myself, so I know exactly what that feels like—or rather,

いや、これは面白かったですね～
分量的にも３時間程度でサクッと読めてしまうのでお手頃です
Amazon Audibleで99円読み放題フェアやっているので、それでサクッと読むことをオススメします
もちろんＭ２Ｅしながらね
この本はYouTube等でも評価が高かったので、試しに読んでみたのですが、自分的にかなり面白かったです
本作は芥川賞を取っているので、真面目な小説かと思われているかもしれませんが、自分としては普通にエンターテインメントとしてめっちゃ笑えました
特に結婚を申し込むところなんか最高でした🤣
いやなんでそこで結婚申し込むのとか、普通に笑える
そして、相手の男が人間として終わっています🤣
そして最後は、「いやいやいや、それで終わっていいのか」という感じで終わってしまいました🤣
まあ、、、一応芥川賞ということで、現代社会の風刺とかの真面目な要素も入っていたりとかしますが、そういうのを全部無視していいかと
とにかく笑える言動が多くて、芥川賞受賞作＝真面目な小説、というイメージをいい意味で裏切ってくれます
あと自分も大学生の時にコンビニバイトやっていたので、ああこの感覚分かるな～っていうか
いや、分かってしまったら大変なんですが🤣
