Eren Jaeger, more than an action protagonist, is a philosophical archetype embodying the raw and terrifying freedom of existentialist thought and the fatal rebellion of absurdism his journey is not merely that of a warrior, but that of an individual brutally confronted with the absence of any predetermined meaning, forcing him to forge his own essence through choice and the most horrific act his analysis detaches itself from personal psychology to focus on ontology his being in the world.
In Jean Paul Sartre philosophy, man is condemned to be free because existence precedes essence we are born without an inherent purpose and must define ourselves through our choices, bearing the responsibility of creating ourselves and, at the same time, of creating a model for humanity Eren is the most extreme manifestation of this condemnation.
His life is defined by anguish and nausea, not in the face of the Titans, but in the face of inauthenticity the life protected behind the Walls. His initial essence is nothing but emptiness but as he progresses, the burden of the Titans the Attack Titan, the Founding Titan and the vision of the future compel him to make the ultimate decision understanding that the future is written and that he is the necessary agent for that writing, Eren does not passively submit to fate, in an existentialist twist, he deliberately chooses to embrace that destiny the Rumbling becomes the most authentic act of his life, for it fully defines his being, assuming total responsibility, guilt, and hatred for the world it is an act of pure will, even if it is a will to annihilate.

Eren confrontation with the outside world places him directly within the realm of Albert Camus concept of the Absurd the Absurd arises from the clash between the human desire to find meaning, order, and justice, and the indifferent and irrational silence of the universe Eren desired a simple world, where monsters could be defeated and life could continue with meaning instead, he discovers a world where conflict is cyclical, hatred is eternal, and justice is an illusion.
Rather than succumbing to the hope that Camus saw as philosophical cowardice or to suicide, Eren chooses rebellio camusian rebellion is the act of upholding the consciousness of the Absurd without reconciling with it for Eren, the Rumbling is his final rebellion against the cycle of hatred that has enslaved his people it is a violent assertion of his will in a universe that offers no answers although morally catastrophic, the act is philosophically rebellious it is the negation of the moral authority of the Absurd and a desperate attempt to create a moment of meaning and peace for his friends.
Eren development also offers insight into the Phenomenology of Intersubjectivity and the figure of the Othe initially, the Titan is the absolute Other, the devourer without reason upon discovering that the true enemy is the humanity of Marley, the Other becomes human, but no less threatening.

His radicalization is a response to being perceived as a demon if the Eldian existence on Paradis depends on the Marleyans hating them and wanting their annihilation, then Eren assumes that role he becomes the object of total hatred, using that hatred to justify and fuel his own destruction he alienates himself from his own nature in order to act, transforming into the thing the destroyer the world needed so that his friends would have a reason to unite the rest of humanity his ultimate sacrifice is the surrender of his own existence so that his comrades, the Other, can survive, an act of self annihilation motivated by the freedom of those he loves Eren Jaeger is, in essence, a tragic man who paid the price of existential freedom with his entire being if you liked the video, support me with a like, and if you re watching from Hive, let me know.
