OCD contests have been appealing to sensitive areas. First toys and now anime.
Few occidental works awaken my sensibility like Japanese animation. They have brought me to tears, both from laughter and moving emotion.
My choice in a case of favoritism and popularity would have been One Piece, with 22 years of broadcasting 968 episodes (I could only watch it 2 times) a superior Shounen. Its only direct competition may be HunterXHunter.
But I find interesting the proposal to select prioritizing rarity and influence. After thinking about it for a while, Nausicaä was the choice that best fits the slogan.

The story takes place in a post apocalyptic world. The planet was irreversibly contaminated by humans. A huge toxic lake was born in a wasteland. Created in times of the industrial era war. It contains powerfull spores able to spread very quick poisoning lands and water. Only some big insects can live on this areas. Migration movements spreads the infection on human villages.

NausicaÄ has a special connection with all living beings. She is the Princess of the Valley of the Winds. Even though she is young, her intuition and empathy make her a natural leader. Pure of heart, she is capable of giving her life to stop any act of cruelty.

Hidden among the mountains, somewhere in Eurasia with a population that works the land and lives in peace. Wind pilots ride the sky. They have some simple, beautiful and maneuverable hovercrafts. They defend the periphery from giant insects that attack the village eventually. Many tools and parts are forged from the tough chrysalises of these bugs. Collected by explorers in the forests of toxic spores.

But everything is about to change in the quiet village. Princess NausicaA is about to become involved in an adventure that could change the destiny of mankind.
Without leaving her ideals aside, on her shoulders is the responsibility to save life in the world.
Fun Fact: This work is related to the iconic studio Ghibli but the reality is that it was released a year earlier. A determining factor for my selection.

Hayao Miyazaki, author, director and illustrator of NausicaÄ is later the co-founder of Ghibli. The work of Hayao Miyazaki put Studio Ghibli at the top.

This director crowns his overwhelming success with the world-renowned "My Neighbor Totoro" always with an environment of forests, nature, supernatural beings, extraordinary animals. Atmospheres with a sweetness and melancholy that connect you immediately.
You can see the influence of NausicaÄ in all his works, even "Princess Mononoke", a superior work of art.
Ghibli Studio productions are amazing in every aspect. The aesthetics are wonderful, the characters are deep, the stories are beautiful, the music is superb and the atmosphere is intense. It immerses you pleasantly and slowly into the plot.
I feel like the speed of this director's narrative is unique. Not because it's faster or slower, it's just different, the plot unfolds like poetry.It immerses you in the story, you feel part of the universe behind the screen.
I want to thank @OCD team for his outstanding work. Not only in this contest (an excelent strategy for promoting communities) but for all his intense work this years!

Disfruto mucho el proceso! Me puedo explayar tanto en los artículos como en la grafica y este contest es excelente.
Me permite combatir esos vacíos de creatividad con algun tema refrescante. Aparte tristemente la política no esta muy bien remunerada, pero era mi tema mas asiduo en otras eras.
Me pasa, la política o los temas sociales creo que están cargados, pero hay otras líneas como esta, las películas o las mascotas que me parecen divertidas y creativas.

Hola no conozco la historia que mencionas pero me parece muy interesante,, espero verla pronto, concuerdo contigo en que las producciones de Studios Ghibli son simplemente espectaculares, yo soy de las que disfruta contemplando los escenarios y paisajes.
