Hello to all the community of The Anime Realm, I have seen with much enthusiasm that thanks to the contest proposed by @OCD The oldest days in anime I have seen a lot of new members of this great community talk about anime that I saw when I was very small and even some that I saw being already an adult since they are jewels of this great genre, and as a good anime lover and member for a long time of this community I could not stay behind with my entry to this contest, so today I will talk about one of my favorite old anime and this is Yū Yū Hakusho.

This anime was born from the manga created and drawn by Yoshihiro Togashi (creator also of the great but possibly never concluded Hunter x Hunter) and began its publication in the Shōnen Jump (no more and no less than in this incredible magazine) in 1990 and had 19 volumes and the grandiose amount of 49 million copies sold only in Japan. Its anime adaptation was made by none other than Pierrot studio and had 112 episodes and despite taking so many arcs never changed its opening (being this Hohoemi no Bakudan) but its endings (which had 5) and also with 2 movies and 3 ovas. Its adaptation to anime brought a great success as it was broadcast by several international networks, besides being considered as a quite different Shōnen despite its demographics.

The story of Yū Yū Hakusho introduces us to Yūsuke Urameshi, a rather violent high school student who does not usually care much about school or those around him, but one day everything changes when he decides to sacrifice himself to save a little boy from being run over and when he gets to the other world he describes that the little boy would survive the accident and that they will not expect him to sacrifice himself in that way, so due to his kindness he is offered the opportunity to return to life if he fulfills a series of tasks to recover his body; Thanks to the help of Botan (a rather clumsy Spiritual Guide) and Koenma (the son of the ruler of the spiritual realm) he must perform a list of good deeds in order to come back to life and find a way to keep his body; for this he will ask for help Keiko Yukimura (childhood friend) to try to prevent anything happens to his body until Yūsuke can return, but because they set fire to the place where his body was, Yūsuke must spend all the energy he had collected to save Keiko, due to this he is charged that the last job must be that someone must pass his spiritual energy through a kiss and the only one who can do it is Keiko herself (since her mother was drunk), when Botan impersonates Keiko's mother and convince her to kiss Yūsuke this finally manages to revive. Due to Yūsuke's experience with death, he can now see demons and ghosts and because of this he is given the position of spirit detective, who will have to protect humans from demons.

Yū Yū Hakusho in many aspects could seem like the typical Shōnen of fights but there is nothing further than that, the anime presents us with a mature plot, a development of our protagonists and even the antagonists really great, without falling into the classic stereotypes of this demographic in addition to presenting not only typical fights but also battles of wits, a very well raised doubt between good and evil and villains who really have great stories.

Characters not only colo Yūsuke, but also like Kurama, Hiei and Kuwabara himself get to have a development not only in terms of their powers but also in terms of their personalities, their motivations, the reasons that make them a great team and we can not forget the incredible teacher that becomes Genkai who not only demonstrates her skills as a fighter but also as someone capable of being able to trigger the skills of her students.

Yū Yū Hakusho despite being a pretty old anime (basically it's as old as me hahahaha) is a work of art that deserves to be seen always, I would recommend it without thinking twice if you want to see an anime with an incredible story no matter that its animation is a little old, I hope that many of the community have had the opportunity to enjoy the Rei gun or the incredible fight of Yūsuke against Toguro, hopefully this is one of those anime that we will see a remake in the near future. Without more to add I hope you are great and continue to participate in this great community that is The Anime Realm.

This is truly a classic.

I vividly remember all the OPs and EDs.

It's a really nostalgic anime, and yeah the OPs and EDs was amazing

Omg I haven’t seen it!! 😞🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️

You should, it's an amazing anime

Nice! I’m gonna watch it, old animes are really something. I kind of recalled Berserk by seeing the images. I loved it! It’s so good... I also made a review of one that might be out of your taste XD but maybe you can enjoy it as well, even they’re really different! 😊 I’m not the best at reviewing, I’m just having fun :)

Underrated anime:さんかれあ!!🍃♥️ Sanka Rea: sweet and dark - Review

What I like most about this anime is the trait that brings the characters to life. The details are well defined and striking.

This anime had an amazing character development, it's really epic

I didn't watch this anime and it looks really good. I added it to my list of pending anime and I hope to watch it soon.

Take the time to watch it dude, it's a really cool anime

This seems to be my kind of anime - something I haven't watched so far but am loving what I read. Hmm.. one more to my list. :)
