About three days ago I embarked on the search for new content to watch, so I set out to explore the extensive catalogue that Netflix has to its credit, if I'm honest I didn't last long looking, I immediately saw one that caught my attention because of its convoluted synopsis and the fact that it is a Netflix original production, I had to give it a chance to see what it was like. The first impression was not very good, I had the wrong idea because of the first two chapters, where they focus more on the killing and not explaining anything about what happens. Also, it gave me a strong vibe of watching an old anime from the early 2000's, this caused by its animation and its classic and unnecessary doses of fanservice. The anime is made by a relatively new studio called Zero-G, this being their most polished work to date. So without further ado, let's talk about High-Rise Invasion.
Hace unos tres días me embarqué en la búsqueda de nuevo contenido para ver, así que me dispuse a explorar el amplio catálogo que Netflix tiene en su haber, si les soy sincero no duré mucho buscando, enseguida vi uno que me llamó la atención debido a su enrevesada sinopsis además de que es una producción original de Netflix, tenía que darle una oportunidad a ver qué tal. La primera impresión no fue muy buena, tenía concebida una idea errónea debido a los dos primeros capítulos, donde se centran más en la matanza y no explicando nada sobre lo que acontece. Además, me dió una fuerte vibra de estar viendo un anime viejo de comienzos de los 2000, esto causado por su animación y por sus dosis clásicas e innecesarias de fanservice. El anime está hecho por un estudio relativamente nuevo llamado Zero-G, siendo esta su obra más pulida hasta la fecha. Así que sin más dilación, hablemos de High-Rise Invasion.
We are told the story of Yuri, who will just wake up in a dystopian world made up of skyscrapers, there is no way to reach the ground and the only way to move is by means of suspension bridges that connect these skyscrapers to each other. As if that were not enough, there will be masked people who will try to make the people sent to this world commit suicide by throwing themselves off the buildings, or if they show willpower by refusing to commit suicide, they will try to murder them. As the plot progresses it will be revealed that the people in this world are participants in a Battle Royale style game, they are in a kingdom and the goal is to become the new God. One point to note is that you have to wait until the third episode to really see what the anime is all about, so keep that in mind if you want to watch it.
Se nos narra la historia de Yuri, la cual apenas comenzar despertará en un mundo distópico conformado de rascacielos, de ninguna manera puedes llegar al suelo y la única forma de trasladarse es mediante puentes colgantes que conectan esos rascacielos entre sí. Por si fuera poco habrán personas enmascaradas que tratarán que las personas enviadas a este mundo se suiciden lanzándose de los edificios, o si muestran fuerza de voluntad negándose al suicidio tratarán de asesinarlas. Conforme avanza la trama se revelará que la gente que se encuentra en ese mundo son participantes de un juego al más puro estilo Battle Royale, están en un reino y el objetivo a conseguir es convertirse en el nuevo Dios. Un punto a recalcar es que tienes que esperar al tercer capítulo para ver de verdad de qué trata el anime en cuestión, así que tienes que tener eso bastante en cuenta si quieres verlo.
The narrative presents us with a diversity of pleasantly interesting characters, with Sniper Mask standing out above all, who will show us the damage that can be caused by being one of the people who are used by this cruel world, and as he comes to have his own judgement we will see him questioning his actions, recovering his free will in a way. People with masks are not inherently evil, they are just victims of the realm in which they find themselves. Another character that stands out for having a good chemistry with our protagonist is Mayuko, a beautiful relationship that can perhaps be defined as one of sisterhood, she came to this world without a reason to live and ends up in the process with one that is very important to her. Then there is Kuon, who represents in a very effective way the innocence that a person can have even in the worst possible situation, being possible to interpret it in a bad way as a kind of disinterest in what is happening.
La narrativa nos presenta diversidad de personajes gratamente interesantes, destacando sobre todos Sniper Mask, quien nos mostrará los daños que puede causar ser una de las personas que son utilizadas por este cruel mundo, al pasar a tener criterio propio lo veremos cuestionando sus acciones, recuperando de cierta manera su libre albedrío. La gente con máscaras no son inherentemente malas, solo son víctimas del reino en el que se encuentran. Otro personaje destacable por tener bastante química con nuestra protagonista es Mayuko, quedando bien plasmado en pantalla una bonita relación que quizás pueda ser definida como de hermandad, llegó a este mundo sin una razón para vivir y termina en el proceso con una muy importante para ella. Después está Kuon, quién representa de manera muy eficaz la inocencia que puede llegar a tener una persona aún en la peor situación posible, siendo posible interpretarlo de mala manera como una especie de desinterés por lo que está ocurriendo.
The story takes place from different points of view, there are three specific groups that they will focus on, mostly showing scenes where they explain parts of the world they are in, which seems to have a kind of mythology of its own, as well as scenes that are obviously bloody and action-packed. The action is quite frenetic, and it is almost impossible to know what is going to happen. It should also be mentioned that we are given too much information in too little time, possibly causing us to get lost, causing confusion. From what I've read for information, the vast majority of the manga was compressed into the anime, thus skipping some parts but leaving the plots heavier, causing us to feel like we're getting information all at once.
La historia transcurre desde diferentes puntos de vista, hay tres grupos en específico en los cuales se enfocarán, en su mayoría mostrando escenas donde explican partes del mundo en el que se encuentran, que parece poseer una especie de mitología propia, además de escenas obviamente sangrientas y con mucha acción. La acción se desarrolla de manera bastante frenética, siendo casi imposible saber qué es lo que va a pasar. Hay que mencionar también que nos proporcionan demasiada información en muy poco tiempo, que posiblemente haga que nos perdamos, causando confusión. Por lo que he leído para informarme, es que la gran mayoría del manga fue comprimido en el anime, saltándose así algunas partes pero dejando los argumentos más pesados causando que nos dé la sensación de recibir información de golpe.
Finally I want to highlight the excellent animation that the series has, teleporting the viewer to the anime of the beginning of the era, following that classic pattern where fanservice is included, which in my opinion is unnecessary but there will be those who like it. An extremely negative point is the large amount of spoilers in the opening and ending, I don't recommend watching them until the end of the series, otherwise you'll get a very bad taste. The soundtrack is very frenetic and manages to convey the feeling of dynamism, with guitar solos that seem to be taken from a Queen song, undoubtedly something too fantastic and that fits perfectly with the rhythm of the series.
Por último quiero dar a destacar la excelente animación que posee la serie, teletransportando al espectador a los animes de comienzos de la época, siguiendo aquél patrón clásico donde se incluye fanservice, que en mi parecer es innecesario pero habrá quien le guste. Un punto en extremo negativo es la amplia cantidad de spoilers que hay en el opening y en el ending, no recomiendo para nada verlos hasta que finalicen la serie porque sino se llevarán un mal gusto tremendo. La banda sonora es muy frenética logrando transmitir la sensación de dinamismo, contando con unos solos de guitarras que parecieran estar sacados de una canción de Queen, sin lugar a dudas algo en demasía fantástico y que encaja a la perfección con el ritmo de la serie.
In conclusion, we are in front of a decently carried out work, having enough to fulfil the objective of entertaining, counting with a proposal that is carried out efficiently, getting to catch the viewer thanks to its great scenes of unbridled action, its characters are quite attractive overflowing quality both in their designs and in their developments during the advancement of the plot. The animation plays its role in an effective way, blending well with a good soundtrack that accompanies the visuals very well. I recommend it if you want to see an anime that focuses on action and survival, and is not too complex.
En conclusión, estamos ante una obra llevada a cabo decentemente, teniendo lo suficiente para cumplir con el objetivo de entretener, contando con una propuesta que es llevada a cabo de manera eficiente, llegando a atrapar al espectador gracias a sus geniales escenas de acción desenfrenada, sus personajes son bastantes atractivos desbordando calidad tanto en sus diseños como en sus desarrollos durante el avance de la trama. La animación cumple su rol de manera efectiva congeniando bastante bien con una buena banda sonora que acompaña muy bien lo visual. Te lo recomiendo si quieres ver un anime que se centra en la acción y supervivencia, que además no sea bastante complejo.
Este anime es fantástico, no soy muy fanático del Gore pero en este anime lo saben usar de manera casi perfecta junto con una historia misteriosa y envolvente. tenia tiempo que no me enganchaba a ver un anime tan rápido como con este. En cierto sentido me recordó mucho a Another. buen post como de costumbre, tu gusto por los animes es genial :D
A mí me gustó bastante también, el final hasta me dejó con ganas de más, ahora toca esperar por la segunda temporada. Creo que lo que voy a hacer ahora es leerme el manga para ver qué es lo que se saltan, ya que en estos 12 capítulos adaptaron más de la mitad de toda la obra. La trama de verdad que está bastante curiosa con un concepto un tanto extraño, pero se desarrolla bien. Ta' muy entretenido, la verdad.
