We all know that in the different training sections there are the so called cult works, those that are put on a pedestal for the good they are, and that most people recommend endlessly, the work we are going to see next has this status, due to a perfect execution of a genre that many may find quite generic and repetitive, I'm talking about the classic romantic comedies, which could easily be summarized in high school girls, several of them, fighting for our protagonist, obviously having comic moments in between. Here there is a change in the formula, special emphasis is placed on the development of the characters and the story they carry with them, provoking a certain feeling of mystery to the viewer, making them wonder why they do what they do, what is the reason for their actions. Without further ado, let's talk about Toradora.

Todos sabemos que en los diferentes apartados de entrenamiento están las llamadas obras de culto, aquellas que están puestas sobre un pedestal por las buenas que son, y que la mayoría de gente recomienda sin cesar, la obra que vamos a ver a continuación tiene este estatus, debido a una perfecta ejecución de un género que a muchos quizás le resulte bastante genérico y repetitivo, estoy hablando de las clásicas comedias románticas, que fácilmente podrían resumirse en chicas de secundaria, varias de ellas, peleándose por nuestro protagonista, obviamente teniendo momentos cómicos de por medio. Acá se hace un cambio en la fórmula, se hace especial énfasis en el desarrollo de los personajes y la historia que cargan consigo, provocando cierto sentimiento de misterio al espectador, haciendo que se lleguen a preguntar por qué hacen lo que hacen, a qué se deben sus acciones. Sin más dilación, hablemos de Toradora.
Like any good romantic comedy, this is a slice of life with a plot that is not at all complex. At the beginning of the school year he will be in the same class as Taiga, a girl of quite fragile appearance and very small in stature, who carries the nickname of Pocket Tiger due to her extreme aggressiveness, violence and savagery. After Taiga has a misunderstanding delivering a love letter, these two characters will find out that they are both in love with each other's best friend, so they will decide to help each other to establish a relationship with these friends. Because of this we will see how the protagonists get to know each other and in the process how they forge a bond.
Como toda buena comedia romántica, estamos ante un slice of life con una trama para nada compleja. Se nos narrará la vida del joven estudiante Ryuuji Takasu, un chico que por tener involuntariamente pinta de mafioso llega a intimidar a todo el mundo, impidiéndole socializar, él es en realidad una persona bastante humilde y sencilla que ejerce en su hogar las tareas de ama de casa, poseyendo así una obsesión por la limpieza, siendo además alguien bastante amable y trabajador. Comenzando el año escolar quedará en la misma clase que Taiga, una chica de apariencia bastante frágil y muy pequeña de estatura, que lleva el apodo de Tigre de bolsillo debido a su extrema agresividad, violencia y salvajismo. Después de que Taiga tenga un malentendido entregando una carta de amor, estos dos personajes se enterarán que los dos están enamorados del mejor amigo del otro, por lo que decidirán ayudarse mutuamente a establecer una relación con estos amigos. Debido a esto veremos cómo los protagonistas se van conociendo y en el proceso cómo forjan un lazo.

The anime feels dynamic, it doesn't feel static at all in the 25 chapters it has, you can have an induced notion of the passage of time, as you can see the progress of the characters, how they evolve and how they improve as people, here there is no exploitation of bad jokes or unnecessary fanservice. Throughout the journey we will notice that there is no idealization of love, they mock things like love at first sight and go down a more organic path, love is formed by the passage of time, affection and gestures that are demonstrated are those that really allow you to win the hearts of others. Here you can feel how relationships are forged during the course of the series, everything is very coherent, undoubtedly the best representation of love I've seen on screen.
Estamos ante una premisa sencilla, que no destaca para nada si la llegas ver por encima, pero una vez te hayas adentrado en la trama verás que lo que realmente destaca acá son los personajes, no es necesario el uso de factores externos o muy llamativos, ya de por sí hablar del amor en sí mismo es un tema que puede ser bastante interesante si se tiene una buena ejecución, por eso acá no encontrarás quintillizas o dos hermanastras peleándose por su hermanastro, o algo por el estilo. El anime se siente dinámico, no se siente para nada estático en los 25 capítulos que tiene, puedes tener una noción inducida del paso del tiempo, ya que puedes ver el progreso de los personajes, cómo evolucionan y cómo mejoran como personas, acá no hay explotación de chistes malos ni de fanservice innecesario. Durante toda la travesía notaremos que no hay presente una idealización por el amor, se mofan de cosas como el amor a primera vista y se va por un camino más orgánico, el amor se forma por el paso del tiempo, el cariño y los gestos que se van demostrando son los que de verdad permiten ganarte el corazón ajeno. Acá puedes palpar cómo se forjan las relaciones durante el transcurso de la serie, todo es muy coherente, sin dudas la mejor representación del amor que he visto en pantalla.
The animation that we will find by JC Staff is quite normal, you should not expect anything spectacular, we are in front of a fairly simple character design that does not stand out too much and is quite similar to designs of other works that the studio has done. What is striking is the execution of the action scenes, the anime has some battles and they really look very fluid and well animated, the quiet moments also feel pretty good. We will not find here either impressive scenarios of those that leave the viewer amazed or the perfect use of a certain color palette. The soundtrack on the other hand is quite memorable, getting to convey the feelings that want to express perfectly, finding melodies for all kinds of situations, the ones that stand out the most are those used in dramatic situations, it is also worth mentioning the excellent first opening, which is one of those that stay engraved in your memory.
La animación que nos encontraremos por parte de JC Staff es bastante normal, no debes de esperar para nada algo espectacular, estamos en frente de un diseño de personajes bastante sencillo que no destaca demasiado y que es bastante similar a diseños de otras obras que el estudio ha hecho. Cosa que si llama la atención es la ejecución de las escenas de acción, el anime cuenta con algunas batallas y de verdad se ven muy fluidas además de bien animadas, los momentos tranquilos también se sienten bastante bien. Tampoco hallaremos acá escenarios impresionantes de esos que dejan maravillado al espectador ni el uso perfecto de una determinada paleta de colores. La banda sonora en cambio es bastante memorable, llegando a transmitir los sentimientos que se quieren expresar a la perfección, encontrándonos así melodías para todo tipo de situaciones, las que más destacan son las usadas en las situaciones dramáticas, cabe a resaltar también el excelente primer opening, que es de esos que se te quedan grabado en la memoria.

Ryuuji is someone quite quiet, who has an idealized and corny vision about love, he has the immense need to help people, anyone could think that thanks to that aspect, he would win a harem of girls who would love him because of helping them to overcome their problems but no, he just wants to lead a quiet life being his biggest concern that something is dirty or that there are food discounts in the supermarket. The problems that a character may have, can only be solved by the character himself. Taiga is the most controversial character due to his way of acting, people can get to be stressed by his abusive behavior; you must keep in mind that as the series progresses you see that this is a point to solve, which is caused by his insecurities and family problems, also she is not rewarded at any time for being in such a way, rather it is used as a comic resource to rather cause problems. A great point in favor is that it does not use the cliché where she only acts aggressively with the person she likes, it is more equitable, she hits everyone.
Como ya mencioné anteriormente el punto fuerte de esta serie, son los personajes y lo bien llevados que están, al estar ante una trama sencilla y genérica debemos tener un punto que destaque y que sea el mejor, los personajes tanto principales como secundarios cumplen dicho objetivo a la perfección. Ryuuji es alguien bastante tranquilo, que tiene una visión idealizada y cursi acerca del amor, cuenta con la inmensa necesidad de ayudar a las personas, cualquiera podría llegar que gracias a ese aspecto, se ganaría un harén de chicas que le quisieran debido a ayudarlas a superar sus problemas pero no, él solo quiere llevar una vida tranquila siendo su mayor preocupación que algo esté sucio o que haya descuentos de comida en el supermercado. Los problemas que pueda llegar a tener un personaje, solo puede resolverlo el personaje en sí mismo. Taiga es el personaje más polémicos debido a su forma de actuar, la gente puede llegar a verse estresada por su abusivo comportamiento; debes tener en cuenta que conforme avanza la serie ves que ese es un punto a solucionar, que está causado por sus inseguridades y por sus problemas familiares, además no se le premia en ningún momento por ser de tal forma, más bien se usa como recurso cómico al más bien causarle problemas. Un gran punto a favor es que no se usa el cliché donde solo actúa de forma agresiva con la persona que le gusta, es más equitativa, golpea a todo el mundo.
Kitamura is Ryuuji's best friend, the vice president of the student council. He is shown as someone quite serene but he is someone who carries a great weight, perhaps even tormenting him, making him suffer. He has love relationships that are just as interesting as those of the main characters. Minori is Taiga's best friend, in my opinion the most complex character in the series, despite being a cheerful person with some strange gestures, she is a person who questions a lot what she does, who does not want to hurt others. Finally we have Ami, a model who at first glance seems sweet and clumsy but in reality is quite the opposite, she is mainly characterized by easily realizing the feelings of other people, making them see their erratic actions, she also serves as a perfect rival for Taiga, preventing her from always getting her way.
Kitamura es el mejor amigo de Ryuuji, el vicepresidente de consejo estudiantil. Se muestra como alguien bastante sereno pero es alguien que carga un gran peso, que quizás hasta le atormenta, haciéndole sufrir. Cuenta con relaciones amorosas que son a la par de interesantes que las de los protagonistas. Minori es la mejor amiga de Taiga, en mi parecer el personaje más complejo que hay dentro de la serie, a pesar de ser una persona alegre con algunos gestos raros es una persona que se cuestiona mucho lo que hace, que no quiere herir a los demás. Por último tenemos a Ami, una modelo que a primera vista parece dulce y torpe pero en realidad es todo lo contrario, se caracteriza principalmente por darse cuenta fácilmente de los sentimientos de las demás personas, haciéndoles ver sus erráticas acciones, además sirve como perfecta rival para Taiga, evitando que siempre se salga con la suya.
In conclusion, we are facing an excellent anime that knows how to perfectly represent what love is, which has a beautiful story carried out to perfection thanks to the magnificent development of the characters that we will see on screen, the animation can be quite regular but it is easily compensated due to the soundtrack executed to perfection, which allows to convey emotions much more easily. It is worth noting that the few battle scenes look fluid and dynamic, on the other hand we have a fairly simple character design, as well as the scenarios. Undoubtedly, this is an excellent work that knows how to develop a plot that may seem generic and turn it into something special.
En conclusión, estamos ante un excelente anime que sabe representar a la perfección lo que es el amor, que cuenta con una bonita historia llevada a cabo a la perfección gracias a el magnífico desarrollo de los personajes que veremos en pantalla, la animación puede ser bastante regular pero es compensado fácilmente debido a la banda sonora ejecutada a la perfección, la cual permite transmitir emociones con mucha mayor facilidad. Cabe a destacar que las pocas escenas de batalla de ven fluidas y dinámicas, en cambio tenemos un diseño de personajes bastante sencillo, al igual que los escenarios. Sin lugar a dudas, estamos ante una excelente obra que sabe como desarrollar una trama que puede parecer genérica y convertirla en algo especial.

You should see it, it's pretty good. If you can stand the attitude of the female main character you'll love it for sure.
I really like your review, it caught my attention even though I haven't seen this anime, I have a long list to watch. I have a problem, what about the sources of the images? this is important for your review to be complete.
I honestly don't understand about the sources of the images, if I'm talking about a specific work I don't see the need to put where I got those images from, it's obvious that they come from screenshots of the work itself, the people who made those screenshots and published them in their pages don't have any rights over that intellectual property, they didn't make the series. Also, my use of these images does not infringe copyright, the use of intellectual property to make reviews is protected by fair use. If anything, I should give credit to the creator of the original work. This is my point of view, you can correct me and verify what I say on your own. I would see it necessary to use the sources if I am using for example a photograph taken by a person, because it really does belong to that person, he does have the rights to that piece.
A screenshot a person takes of a series or anime does not make that screenshot theirs. It still belongs to the original creator, the only thing the person making the screenshot is doing is replicating the original material.
