Ayer decidí ponerme los pantalones de dibujante y dejar de tenerle miedo al dibujo en digital. O por otro lado… si, eso es, es que en eso se resume “dejar de tener miedo y aplicar cualquier técnica nueva que se pueda” No me canso de mencionar de que estoy trabajando Gimp y con Ibis Paint; y aunque Gimp suele ser mi programa principal, por ahora, y lastimosamente mi computadora está dañada (rogándole al Dios del cielo que tenga reparación), por lo que me he queado con el teléfono para ilustrar y por lo tanto, solo con IbisPaint en su versión gratuita.
Como ya ven, me está gustando poner una capa estrellada como lienzo de fondo y en esta ocasión debo confesar que iba a hacer mi propia versión de Pocahontas pero todo fue cambiando y terminé con un cielo morado bien estrellado y un collar de perlas negras con estrellas que me recuerdan al collar del gato de la primera película de Man In Black.
Así que el título de esta ilustración muy bien podría ser “India guardiana de galaxias” o algo así, suena loco pero no sé qué está pasando con mis conceptos, quizá estoy forzando las ideas.
Yesterday I decided to put on my cartoonist pants and stop being afraid of digital drawing. Or on the other hand... yes, that's it, that's what "stop being afraid and apply any new technique you can" sums up. I never tire of mentioning that I'm working with Gimp and with Ibis Paint; and although Gimp is usually my main program, for now, and unfortunately my computer is damaged (begging the God of heaven to have it repaired), so I have kept the phone to illustrate and therefore only with IbisPaint on its free version.
As you can see, I'm enjoying putting a starry layer as a background canvas and this time I must confess that I was going to make my own version of Pocahontas but everything changed and I ended up with a very starry purple sky and a necklace of black pearls with stars which remind me of the cat's collar from the first Man In Black movie.
So the title of this illustration could very well be "Guardian of the Galaxy India" or something like that, it sounds crazy but I don't know what's going on with my concepts, maybe I'm forcing the ideas.
Estoy llenándome de tutoriales de pintura en digital y veo un montón de técnicas que me llaman pero que no he podido probar aún en totalidad (ya iré consolidando mi técnica.) Para esta ocasión preferí hacer en mi boceto algo distinto y es que delimité una zona para cada color sólido y a partir de allí dar el difuminado necesario, cosa que me recuerda mucho a las técnicas en óleo.
I am filling up with digital painting tutorials and I see a lot of techniques that appeal to me but that I have not been able to fully test yet (I will consolidate my technique.) For this occasion I preferred to do something different in my sketch and that is that I delimited an area for each solid color and from there give the necessary blending, which reminds me a lot of oil techniques.
Así empecé a difuminar y debo resaltar que el trabajo se hace inmensamente más fácil porque antes solo perdía bastante mí tiempo. Agregaba un trazo de color con poca opacidad y difuminaba, trazo casi transparente y difuminaba nuevamente y así el trabajo se hacía interminable.

Como el difuminado estaba “casi” listo decidí agregar unas sombras más duras y pulir un poco la nariz con toques de café oscuro. Usando la guía de líneas nuevamente puse los colores base de los labios y proseguí con el emborronado.
Since the blending was “almost” ready I decided to add some harder shadows and polish the nose a bit with hints of dark brown. Using the line guide again I put the base colors of the lips and continued with the blurring.
Los labios estaban quedando muy rosas y si no hubiera estado tan interesada en esta piel tostada entonces hubiera estado muy bien, pero tuve que ponerle una capa de un marrón pardo para poder darle un acabado que no violentara la paleta de color que estaba usando. Así mismo puse unos dientes que apenas se muestran y achaté un poco la boca entera para hacerla más estrecha. También me puse a trabajar en los ojos y las cejas teniendo que recurrir a mover el ojo y la ceja izquierdas un poco más arriba para recobrar la simetría que de algún modo se había perdido.
The lips were turning out very pink and if I hadn't been so into this tan skin then it would have been great, but I had to layer it with a taupe brown so I could give it a finish that wouldn't upset the color palette I was using. I also added some teeth that barely show and flattened the entire mouth a bit to make it narrower. I also got to work on the eyes and brows having to resort to moving the left eye and brow a bit higher to bring back the symmetry that had somehow been lost.
Aquí podemos ver claramente que el cabello aparece ¡SÍ! Amo estas herramientas y pinceles diversos para hacer el cabello. Jugué mucho con la forma en este paso y quedé muy insatisfecha (sé que tendré más oportunidades) pero continuando con el trazado del cabello noté que los hombro no me gustaban, estaba muy sosa la pose y empecé a arrastras todo hasta darle una forma más, no lo sé, menos plana.

Ahora se puso todo muy loco y con el lienzo de fondo estrellado tuve que intervenir con una capa de luz morada que opacara un poco los tonos oliva que por algún motivo había adquirido la piel. También pues necesitaba hacer algo respecto a esta idea del collar de canicas de galaxias y necesité otra capa de luces ambientales moradas que resaltaran el hecho de que ese collar está irradiando un resplandor.
Now everything got very crazy and with the starry background canvas I had to intervene with a layer of purple light that slightly overshadowed the olive tones that for some reason the skin had acquired. Also, I needed to do something about this galaxy marble necklace idea and I needed another layer of purple ambient lights to highlight the fact that that necklace is giving off a glow.
Si, claro que sí, para finalizar, esta vez sí, tuve que poner mas sombras, esta vez e un tono azul/uva muy oscuro (y sí, hay uvas azuladas no tan moradas)

Esto no pretende ser un tutorial, pero puede resultar alentador para alguien el ver que probar una técnica nueva no siempre termina en desastre a la primera, aunque por la inexperiencia me tardé 20 horas con unos cuantos minutitos.

También dibujo desde el celular recuerdo que la primera vez que lo intenté dure 25 h, ahora duro 3 h o menos dependiendo del dibujo, espero que continúes al estilo digital a escala del celular es difícil lograr lo que lograste, se ve grandioso 💖🙌
Será posible adaptar un lápiz a esta cosa? Si es así entonces necesito uno. Lograr reducir las horas de exposición a la luz del cell sería una maravilla. Gracias por pasar a comentar.
hay lápices digitales con punta fina y con punta redonda, uso redonda porque es el más accesible y duele menos al bolsillo, creo que es más difícil dibujar con el cuando te acostumbras a usar el dedo lo digo por experiencia. 🥺 También se puede adaptar al cel las tabletas digitales pequeñas eso ayudaría a solo usarlo para ver el proceso y no para trazar directamente en la pantalla del celular. Ya verás que las horas se irán reduciendo cuando vayas experimentando con todas las herramientas de la app ☺️
