Notes
_

As of late, I have done something of an abysmal job sharing my video work on HIVE, which I've been focusing on the past few months. Let's count today's blog as a step towards remedying the situation.

.

This video was created using 4K public domain footage from NASA Goddard's "A Decade of Sun" video. It shows a timelapse of our sun from 2010-2020. I sped it up 3x as it was originally in 24 frames per second (film standard) so that it would look smooth at 60 frames per second.

The soundtrack is created by @rusty-jernigan and is entitled "Morning Traffic." I used a plugin called ZGameEditorVisualizer to generate some visualizations of the audio waveform and composited these in various ways with the sun footage. Many hours later of tinkering with things in Final Cut Pro X and this video is the result.

I've included tons of screenshots in this post, and the video link is embedded below. Come say hi and share your thoughts in a YouTube comment and I'll hit one of your recent posts with an upvote :-). Still want to connect HIVE and YT more... but shout out to @immanuel94 who I recently met, he does really cool high quality Minecraft build time-lapses, you should go support his channel!

If you're also a YouTuber, drop a link in the comments below on HIVE and I'll give you a shoutout sometime in a future post ;-)

.
Remember — as long as the sun rises,
there is hope for a brighter tomorrow.

.
Much love,
@d-pend

This is relevant to my interests, I like watching the sun and your graphic art work is excellent! I am subscribing for more great posts like this.

P.S. check the comment I made above for a version where you can watch the sun spin "smoother" with no transition effects.

That is great to hear @darkflame! This was my first time working with footage from space and I absolutely loved it. Plan to do more in a similar vein in the future. Thanks for your support!

P.S. There is also a "smooth" version of this video that doesn't include as many effects and transitions. It's up on @rusty-jernigan's channel for those interested. Peace!

Wow look at that transition, the yellow crusts is Just so amazing, I think I prefer watching this one if you ask me, this is because I haven't even had the slightest imagination that the sun would look like this. I was thinking a poetic piece from you would come with it. It would be so stunning. Needless to say, I loved looking at the screenshots, but the video itself was a beauty.

Hey man, thanks for the comment! Not sure if you were referring to the second version I posted in the comments (which is the source of the 2nd, more manic one, haha!) but if so, that's one of the reasons I wanted to start doing two versions as I noticed the more "plain" one can be a bit nicer to look at.

Plus, I want to help support my friend @rusty-jernigan, who doesn't have a lot of spare time to make videos for his many tracks.

Especially with this one, it is so moving somehow to gaze at the orb that provides our entire planet with solar sustenance. :-)

The footage in this 2 minute video shows the sun from December 25, 2016 to about January 8, 2018. A year in 2 minutes, haha!

I was thinking a poetic piece from you would come with it. It would be so stunning. Needless to say, I loved looking at the screenshots, but the video itself was a beauty.

I saved some screenshots for this purpose :-) Hopefully, inspiration will strike and I won't disappoint your expectations with that one :-D

Take care @josediccus and hope your year is off to a good start!

I loved the one with the effect since it was the maniplulation of the original itself. Its great that you're doing something for your friend. And I don't know how this video could be 2 minutes for a footaged of 2 years. Probably it was super timelapsed hahah.
Anyway i'll be looking forward to seeing that poem, you write a lot about nature, im sure you'll do for this too.

This is awesome. The combination of the sum and sound track to create these effects under 2 minutes and 15 seconds is amazing. The flash of light in the video, the flow of the and the sound track all rhythm together.

Wow, those are some great effects. You did a fantastic job! I watched that thru several times. Well done, buddy! I subscribed to your youtube.
