Hey everyone! Today I want to share a drawing I made during a live stream a few days ago. It's a portrait of a young man with a look of intense annoyance and rage, with sweat on his cheek and messy hair. You can truly feel his indignation through his eyes. Capturing these kinds of facial expressions is something I've always loved to do; I always strive to make my portraits convey real emotion, because a flat portrait just feels lifeless.
To achieve this expression, it's crucial to pay close attention to the brows and eyes: the brow should be furrowed, and making the iris slightly smaller—even though that's biologically impossible—gives the eyes a sharp, hyper-focused look. Additionally, the jaw must look rigid and the mouth tightly shut. These are all key elements to keep in mind when drawing anger. This character was done completely without reference; I just wanted to practice that expression on a young man. Hope you guys like it!
Hola, gente. El día de hoy les muestro un dibujo que hice en un directo hace unos días. Es el retrato de un hombre joven con una expresión de molestia y rabia, con sudor en su mejilla y el cabello desordenado. En sus ojos se puede sentir toda su indignación; conseguir este tipo de expresiones faciales siempre ha sido algo que me gusta hacer. Que los retratos puedan transmitir un sentimiento es lo que siempre intento buscar, porque un retrato plano se siente sin vida.
Para lograr esta expresión es importante prestar atención a las cejas y a los ojos: el ceño debe estar fruncido y el iris se intenta hacer un poco más pequeño (aunque biológicamente esto sea imposible, le da al ojo la sensación de hiperenfocarse en algo). Además, la mandíbula se debe ver rígida y la boca cerrada con presión; todo eso se debe tener en cuenta cuando vas a dibujar la rabia. Este personaje fue hecho sin referencia, solo quería practicar esa expresión en un hombre joven. Espero que les guste.
