[Splinterlands] LIRA THE DARK - Social Media Challenge

Hello everyone dear community, today I want to share with you a simple design, dedicated to an activity sponsored by Splinterlands, it is "Social Media Challenge" where people publish quality content related to Splinterlands and sharing it in different social networks, such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, among others. This is the first time I participate in this activity, and for that reason I decided to make a design of the Lira the Dark pawn, I did it with a different style than I usually use, a little simpler, to practice different types of techniques.

Next I show you the step by step of the development of the illustration.

Hola a todos querida comunidad, hoy quiero compartirles un diseño un tanto sencillo, dedicado a una actividad que patrocina Splinterlands, se trata de “Social Media Challenge” donde las personas publican contenido de calidad referente a temáticas variada a Splinterlands y compartiéndola en diferentes redes sociales, como Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, entre otras. Es la primera vez que participo en esta actividad, y por tal motivo decidí realizar un diseño del peonaje Lira the Dark, lo realicé con un estilo diferente al que usualmente utilizo, un tanto más simple, para practicar diferentes tipos de técnicas.

Drawing development / Desarrollo ✏️

The character of Lira the Dark was developed in an animated drawing style, here I kept the line art, then I drew the whole design in grayscale, and through different mixing methods I applied colors and finally placed general shadows, occlusion shadows, glows and lights to highlight the design.

Se desarrolló el personaje de Lira the Dark a un estilo animado de dibujo, aca se mantuvo él line Art, luego dibuje todo el diseño a escala de grises, para a traves de diferentes métodos de mezcla aplicar colores y finalmente colocar sombras generales, sombras de oclusion, brillos y luces para resaltar el diseño.

First I made a quick sketch of Lira, here I wanted to represent her as a fashionable girl, taking different selfies with her Splinterlands cell phone, after having the basic idea, I proceeded to refine the lines.

Primero realicé un boceto rápido de Lira, acá la quise representar a una chica fashion, tomándose diferentes selfies con su celular marca Splinterlands, luego de tener la idea base, procedí a refinar las líneas.

As you know I like to divide the drawing into different sections, this helps me to work more comfortably without leaving the work area.

Pasamos a dibujar toda la figura a escala de grises, como saben me gusta dividir el dibujo en diferentes secciones, esto me ayuda a trabajar más cómodamente sin salirme del área de trabajo.

Now we move on to the coloring of the figure, as you know from previous deliveries, when I apply the color to a gray base, I do it using blending methods, specifically the "soft light" here you have to apply several layers until you get the desired tone, usually I use three to four layers.

Ahora pasamos al coloreado de la figura, como ya saben en anteriores entregas, cuando aplicó el color a una base de grises, lo hago usando métodos de mezcla, específicamente el “luz suave” acá hay que aplicar varias capas hasta obtener el tono deseado, por lo general uso de tres a cuatro capas.

Now we move to the step of the shadows and glows, here we simply choose the clipping mask option, this allows us to paint over the entire figure without leaving it, we apply cool tones and low saturation for the shadows, then we apply a multiply blend method. For the highlights we do the same, but with warm tones and using an add blend method.

Ahora toca el paso de las sombras y brillos, acá simplemente elegimos la opción de máscara de recorte, está nos permite pintar por sobre toda la figura sin salirnos de la misma, aplicamos tonalidades frías y de baja saturación para las sombras, luego le aplicamos un método de mezcla multiplicar. Para los brillos hacemos lo mismo, pero con tonalidades cálidas y usando un método de mezcla en añadir.
