as I chip away at Quest For Stoken, @skatehive community's playable video game, adding new details here and there, I was very suprised to see over 400 plays in one day, the day after Thanksgiving!
now thats a fun number of plays isnt it?
checking now, we are over 500 plays. This is because GX games features Quest for Stoken on their homepage under the "Weird / WTH is Going On!?" section!

This is awesome! I also included in the title of the game, "skateboarding into web3" to make it even weirder for them! This is going to maybe draw attention to Hive and our skate community !
i also changed the hearts (lives) to Hive logos! which makes more sense because collecting 100 Stokens now gives you a 1UP of Hive or an extra life!
I updated the game over screen GUI that displays your high score with a much more high tech version!
I am also implementing things @gnarip12345 has animated such as the american flag sword and sheild.
i changed it to the common law flag with stripes going vertically.
graphically it works better than the middle finger shield which kind of blends in.
@gnarip12345 is also working on a pigeon enemy.
and i am working on a @xvlad enemy.
i am thinking there will be one vlad in each room. he does not attack you but he floats around and required one hit to kill him, upon death, dropping you some weed.
update: i added him. but he does not move yet.
I had my dad and my cousins play Quest for Stoken this weekend and it was fun. they all like it.

When I feel we are at a good stopping point, I am going to download the paid version of Game Maker and publish the game on my own website for people to play, but for now you have to use the Opera Browser to play it. @sandymeyer You mentioned you wanted to play it. Please let me know what you think. any and all feedback is encouraged!

I dont plan to make any money off this video game. crafting it is a labor of love to my skatehive community and as a homage to video games and how much i loved them as a kid and still as an adult.
i think the similarity between my paintings and making a video game is the amount of content that is needed to make it cool. My paintings contain lots of information, brushstrokes, layers ect, and the video game contains depths of detail to almost an infinite degree- you can "zoom" in on any aspect of the game and develop it to the extent of your imagination.
i added a robert clemente sign to the first level because that is what the first level is designed from
there is going to be a boss fight where you get hundreds of stoken for winning. the boss fight is going to take place inside a pyramid.
The boss is going to be an American astro naught that attempts to stick an American flag in you like the moon.
Don't forget, Skateboarding was invented in America.
Man, this has come a long way in a short time! Looking badass! Way more dynamic than i expected. Great job!
yeah it is pretty crazy that a couple months ago i didnt know any coding or anything and now my game is featured!??

haha! yeah. the game is up to over 1200 plays! i added a challenge, which displays the users high scores on a scoreboard... but they have to have a GX games account, which i assume none of the people who have been playing my game have, since QFS has not received one rating or "like"
i will work on developing the astro-naught man around christmas i think
