Aimed at epic music

Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.

- Victor Hugo -

I'm not into video games, let's get that out there right up front. I see it as a monumental waste of time especially considering there's nothing to gain except the highest score or defeating the big boss. There's better things to be doing, it's just my opinion.

Having said that, one of the coolest things that has come of video games are these cinematic videos and the need for production music which is basically stock music made for use in commercials, films, television shows, previews and so on. I have a lot of it in my playlists and thought I'd share three of my favourites this Tuesday.

T1: Breathe

I don't know anything about the digital card game Legends of Runeterra and do not want to, but I certainly know something about this great track performed by singer, Fleurie. It's a hauntingly beautiful song, made so by Fleurie's voice and I like how the music, her singing and the video combine to be so emotive. I have snuck the original version into this post, right here, as it is my favourite version - the featured remix is in this post because the video is so great. Do yourself a favour and listen to both - If you listen to the original version, turn up the volume!

"I feel the pages turning, I see the candle burning down
before my eyes, before my wild eyes. I feel you holding me, tighter I cannot see, when will we finally...breathe"

T2: Awaken

Riot Music Team are responsible for this great track which is somehow linked with the game League of Legends I believe. The beautiful vocals are by Valerie Broussard, who is beautiful in her own right, and the track builds from a dreamy haunting feel to become and epic and uplifting track, a call to action I guess one could say. As with most of these cinematic music videos the music video is visually impactful.

"The night beckons while you dream, a life never lives in peace as you stand upon the edge woven by a single thread, and fate may fall down upon you, while the devil is knocking right at your door"

T3: Heart of Courage

This epic track is created by Two Steps From Hell (founded by composers Thomas Bergersen and Nick Phoenix) which is a music company that creates production music. I love it because it's awesome. It is a sweepingly beautiful orchestral piece, violin and cello and some really nice choral elements, and is incredibly emotive. This version I have linked is a very cool cinematic video and the visuals and music will almost certainly grab you. I'm not sure if it's from a video game and neither do I care if it is.

If you actually listened and watched the videos feel free to comment below if you'd like, I'm interested to know what you thought of these three tracks and if you have any that you personally like and would like to share with me in the comments.

I occasionally play games but wouldn't call myself a gamer. Especially lately, I haven't touched a game in months...

Anyhow, music - video game music is awesome! I listened to your chosen tracks. Fleurie's voice is beautiful and Heart of Courage reminds me of many other games or movie music. Have you listened to Skyrim yet? Never played the game (which is supposed to be a good one) but the music is great!

Awaken - I found 'just' okay, but there is another LOL track that I'm in love with. The original is good but I prefer Halocene's cover of it https://youtu.be/oHoSCWjvEOY.

Music - so many choices (almost like life).

I'm glad you commented about the music, that's what this post is about.

That track you linked is cool, I like it.

Hopefully your weekend is going well and you're out and about in the great outdoors.

Seems unlikely. Some walking probably but not much. It is f***g cold (12C) and raining, not drizzling, raining the whole day today and tomorrow is forecasted similarly. Time to do some arting or writing.

I'm off deer hunting in the morning, 5am wake up, it'll be cold and wet also, so I get it. Art or writing is a good plan. I'll be doing some art Sunday too. My latest post explains this comment.

Enjoy.

I saw that. Picasso-esque portraits - LOL - that should be a fun activity after a wet and cold deer hunt.

Yep, I'm looking forward to demonstrating how terrible I am at art. It'll be fun.

Ya I hear you, I used to play video games when I was a child and loved them, but stopped playing when I was around sixteen, as I had more important things to be doing, I did occasionally play some football games like Fifa every once in a while and my kids play video games, so I will sometimes play Mario Kart or Fifa with them for the laugh, for their benefit, not mine...

Now to the tunes, I had not heard of Fleurie before, the girl can sing! Serious set of lungs, I preferred the second version personally. I'll have to check out some more of her stuff.

The beautiful vocals are by Valerie Broussard, who is beautiful in her own right, and the track builds from a dreamy haunting feel to become and epic and uplifting track, a call to action I guess one could say.

beautiful vocals is right, Valerie has a big voice as well

I love it because it's awesome. It is a sweepingly beautiful orchestral piece, violin and cello and some really nice choral elements, and is incredibly emotive.

You saved the best for last, Thomas Bergersen and Nick Phoenix really get a lovely flow going and I recognise the music, not sure from where, but I recognise it.

Nice one on the Three tunes man, a good read and listen as always.

I played video games now and then also, but these days, the last 30 years, I've been too busy living life in the real world to waste on video games.

Yep, the second (original version) is way better right? It's a really cool track and Fleurie is a great artist. All three of these tracks are great in my opinion, so was happy to share them. Got tomorrow's coming in hot, wrote it tonight. I wonder what the old G-dog will bring this week. Lol.

Ha ha, look forward to finding out some time over weekend or next Monday/Tuesday... That's usually how it pans out anyway... Great to have you quickly becoming a Three Tune Tuesday regular, good on ya..

That Fleurie song has gone into a few of my playlists now, so thanks for that..

I always have so many things I want to post about so I don't generally get involved with concepts like this one. Having said that, it's enjoyable and I like music so I'm happy to turn up each Tuesday.
