Володар тварини зобов'язаний провести чіпування собаки до 12-тиждневого віку. А якщо тварину будуть дарувати або продавати, то ця процедура має пройти ще до передачі інших володарям. Після того, як собаці ввели чіп, ветеринар на протязі 24 годин вносить відомості про собаку до реєстра. Плата за чіп буде приблизно 10 євро.

Також, за утримання собаки треба платити податки, приблизно 40 євро на рік. Після сплати податку в місцевому уряді видають спеціальний жетон, який потрібно одягати собаці на шию на прогулянку. Відвідування ветеренара та щеплення є обов'язковим. В Словакії за цим слідкують. Гуляти з собаками можна лише на спеціальних територіях та прибирати за нею.
