Freewrite - At the bottom of the case

Another imposter. Another alien roamer. This one bigger than the last. How long had it been. Many years I would say.

We've successfully hidden ourselves for eons of time. The rarest Martian element Rutherthramyth was mined thousands of years ago by our ancestors. The most intriguing property of this element was its ability to make things look invisible to the naked eye or camera lens.

The last alien which the humans called Rover had never detected us, but now they had sent another.

We didn't know it then, but detection was not the primary concern any longer. The newest human robot had brought something with it this time. There was a metal case welded to the bottom of the mining rig. It was to be used to take soil samples from the red tinged soil of Mars and store them for later removal back to Earth.

The case had become contaminated before it left Earth and now this foreign organic matter had travelled 200 million miles across the Solar system to land on our home soil.

Foreign molecules would be bad enough, but at the bottom of the case, clinging tightly with microbial strength was the deadly pathogen Covid-19.

The humans might not see us, but they will surely now destroy us, as they do with every natural resource in their world.

This was my interpretation of the Friday freewrite.

What is a Freewrite you say....

It's a daily writing contest organised by @mariannewest. She has been doing this for more than three years now! Well done for keeping it going.

Want to get involved?

Head on over to:

https://hive.blog/hive-161155/@mariannewest/day-1238-5-minute-freewrite-friday-prompt-at-the-bottom-of-the-case

Look at the theme. Set a 5 minute timer and just write. Whatever comes to mind. Just go with it... it's like a stream of consciousness.

Thanks for stopping by.

Peace out

I wonder if Mars have gold, and how much.

Yes, I'd say its highly probable. Gold and volcanic action and plate tectonics go hand in hand.

The gold like on earth would have been formed millions of years ago during planet formation.

Mars has a set of volcanoes on its surface that contains the largest volcano in the solar system, Olympus Mons
