BOOK REVIEW: RODHAM BY CURTIS SITTENFELD

in Freewriters3 years ago

Rodham is a historical novel by Curtis Sittenfeld, an American bestselling author. The novel is about Hillary Rodham Clinton. This novel depicts an imaginative world in which Hillary Rodham Clinton never marries Bill Clinton and pursues a political carrier as a single lady. It gives us a window to an alternate reality. To be simple and precise, Rodham imagines herself being independent and ferocious about her ambitions. Rodham sets her ambitions as a top priority and her ambitions are her only driving force.

This novel does not focus particularly on politics neither it is purely biographical in nature. It rather brings out the WHAT IF thoughts of Hillary Rodham who drowns into an alternative reality to see what would have happened if she had not married Bill Clinton, the former US president.

Sittenfeld gives her readers a clear and compelling account of the career Hillary might have had.“Sometimes I think I’ve made so few mistakes that the public can remember all of them,” says Hillary,

The writing of Crutis Sittenfeld is admirable to a greater extent. She has also written about American misogyny. One of the key factors behind the success of this Novel is how Rodham has framed events and issues in a new way. I would suggest you all to give it a read as it gives us a new perspective of looking at life.
