What I see
It feels like an art gallery where friends are sat talking.
What I feel
Oooh, difficult one. It feels quiet and intense. Feels like these were friends in deep discussion.
My story
Emma had dreamt of this moment for years. Finally, having her art on display in the gallery. This meant so much to her.
She also felt a sense of deep dread and fear of the unknown. What would people think? How would the critics review her work? She was not sure if she could ever stand too much negative press.
Perhaps she should never have put her art forward. Fear, uncertainty and doubt, consumed her as she thought through different negative scenarios.
It was too late now, there was her artwork hanging in the gallery for all to see.
The gallery was quiet. It had that library feeling where you could hear every pin drop, the whisper of people talking quietly. It was almost deafening quiet and she felt like screaming.
She walked off and headed to the washroom where she splashed cold water on her face. She looked at herself in the mirror and thought, "you can do this. Be strong."
She dried her face on a paper towel and walked back to the gallery to see if anyone was noticing her work.
On the way back, she passed a bench where 3 people were sitting talking. She stopped as she recognised those voices. It was her friends from work! They came!
She was about to go and say hello when she overheard their conversation.
"I agree, they are amazing"
"Emma just doesn't know how good her work really is. She is always putting herself down."
"She has an amazing talent"
Emma had tears in her eyes.
