The advance only covers food OR nappies. The toilsome decisions that life has imposed upon us. They call it a crisis!
It's a tragedy! Until my pay comes in later this week, that is how binary life choices have become.
Black and white.
No colour allowed in our lives anymore.
This is my entry for the ZapFic 50 Friday contest to create a story with exactly 50 words using the prompt "advance"
The cost of living crisis challenges so many at sometimes it does lead us to very binary decisions when we are under pressure and the money just doesn't go far enough.
Unfortunately, that means many are living to survive and the chance for colourful lives is stolen away from them.
When you take an advance on pay, it helps you out but your are already borrowing from your future self. A slippery slope.
