Ok, I admit I do get really thirsty and hungry during Ramadhan but there is one thing that I rally crave more than anything else.
"You forgot to buy chocolate!"
This is my entry for this week's ZapFic50Friday contest to write a story in precisely 50 words. This week the prompt is "chocolate".

My entry today is inspired by my fasting this month during Ramadan. I get thirsty and hungry and do love the nice dates, dried fruit, soups, bread that we break our fast with. I then always love to have a piece of chocolate.

Ramadan is a great time for food. We always lay on nice dishes to break our fast and of course, everything tastes extra special when you've been fasting all day.

@awah How long does the fasting occur? The King got the impression that it is an intermittent fasting? Or is it sunset to sunrise?

We fast for the whole month, being a lunar calendar, that is for a lunar cycle (Ramadan is the name of the month). So from the site of the crescent to the next new moon.
Each day we start from dawn (about 1.5 hours before sunrise) which in the UK is about 04:30 and we fast until sunset which is 20:00. We don't eat or drink anything (no sex either) during those hours.
Chocolate is then a welcome treat!
The fasting reminds us of those who go without food everyday and puts things into perspective.
