Este sencillo poema, que hoy traigo para compartir con ustedes queridos amigos de esta prestigiosa comunidad, fue inspirado en dos niños maravillosos con los que he compartido muchas veces: Matías y Margarita, el primero es mi único nieto y la segunda, es nieta de mi hermana, pensando en ellos y para ellos desde mi corazón.
This simple poem, which today I bring to share with you dear friends of this prestigious community, was inspired by two wonderful children with whom I have shared many times: Matías and Margarita, the first is my only grandson and the second is my sister's granddaughter , thinking of them and for them from my heart.
Esos locos bajitos
Those crazy short ones
¿Qué puedo decir yo
sobre los niños?
Parecen de otro mundo
De otro lado
Son magos con varitas
Con capas de trapo
What can i say
about children?
They seem from another world
from other side
They are wizards with wands
With layers of rag
Son como Quijotes pequeñitos
Que ven dragones alados
They are like little 'Quijotes'
That winged dragons see
Que ven en el respaldo de un sillón
La borda de un barco de piratas
They see in the back of an armchair
The gunwale of a pirate ship
Son como embriones de Picasso
Coloreando sus papeles
sin descanso
They are like embryos of Picasso
Coloring their papers
without a rest
Son héroes de armadura de cartón
y palitos como espadas.
¡Siempre vencen!
Viajeros en el tiempo son
pues, usan la mejor tecnología:
La imaginación!
Son más dulces que un suspiro
Sobre todo
cuando están dormidos.
They are heroes in cardboard armor
and sticks like swords.
They always win!
Time travelers they are
Well, they use the best technology:
The imagination!
They are sweeter than a sigh
Mostly
when they are asleep.
