Miracles| AN ORIGINAL POEM

She wanted to see miracles
Of the blind taking off their spectacles
Of the lame standing up from their wheelchairs
While the congregation cries and cheers
She wanted to see signs and wonders
Of the deaf and dump taking verbal orders
Of the sick discarding their pills
And never again to pay hospital bills
But not a single miracle
Did she find in the tabernacle
Until the day she cut an earthworm in two
And she saw the miracle of one becoming two.
