RAIN| AN ORIGINAL POEM

in Freewriters3 years ago

The cloud bulgy with a mischief
The wind shrills
And the thunder spreads a grappling voice with its tiny lightning limbs.
Somewhere in Africa
A mother awaits the rain with a strain of supplications—
Her father told her prayers articulated beneath a leaking sky don't leak
Because the sky already did the leakages.
The neighborhood boys' cheer grows unscathed
For it's another time for baptism.
Behind a windowpane
A lovebird whistles a serenade
Hoping the wind carries it atop its wings.
Somewhere beneath a footbridge
Mothers scamper
Boys scamper
Girls scamper
Fathers scamper.
