[ENG][ESP] The flight of a seagull/ El vuelo de una gaviota - by Hanuman Sánchez

G'DAY MATES! I hope you are very well, entertained and comfortable. I want to thank you all again for your warm support and I hope you continue to enjoying what I have to share. This time, I bring a short story that came to my mind after reading Horacio Quiroga's "Cuentos de la selva" (Tales of the Jungle) and other stuff, it's a mix of ideas and inspiration, I hope you like it.

The seagull flies in circles incessantly, he doesn't know why, he rather knows that he knew it, monotony is a cancer that takes over the mind and dissolves the memory, there was only something he could do, stop, stop his flight, but he didn't do it, his wings simply kept his incessant and tireless movement. At some point, he enjoyed every turn, every dizziness, every draught in his face, but now he didn't even feel nauseous anymore, it was simply insipid, for the first time he wished he had two legs, two arms and the characteristic laziness of the unfeathered bipeds on the ground. At one of the loops, the gull perceived the annoying buzzing of a fly, tiny and disgusting. The gull hated flies, always impertinent, annoying, filthy and nosy, but at this moment he decided that even a fly was more interesting than flying endlessly in circles. The fly, curious as ever approached the seagull laughing unpleasantly.

—nzz Seagull nzz Seagull, is it me, or are you flying in circles nzz jijiji nzz, have you gone crazy? nzz— said the fly in a mocking tone.

—You see, disgusting insect, I don't know what's wrong with me, my body doesn't obey me, it's as if some strings were controlling me, I've been here forever and I just want to stop— Replied the seagull, who despite not enjoying the conversation with the fly, knew that he would not have anything better.

—I see nzz, you're crazy nzz, as crazy as a fly nzz, if there's one thing we flies do well, it's to come back to the same place over and over again nzz, but we only stop doing it when something scares us nzz, have you tried scaring yourself nzz?— the fly kept staring at the seagull while they continued flying in circles.

—Actually, I haven't done much, at first I counted the circles, but now I'm bored, my mind is already tired of the same thing, how can we frighten me?— the seagull showed desperation, and the fly, full of mischief, wanted to take advantage of the situation to annoy the seagull.

—Let's do something, I'll get into your nose, and I'll make you sneeze, so you'll shake and fall, ending your suffering...— The fly was smiling and enthusiastic, which seemed suspicious to the seagull, but he couldn't stand the idea of continuing his monotonous flying exercise, so he accepted and told the fly to do it at any time. They circled twice to calculate, and the fly took flight toward the bird's nostril, confident that the gull would choke and fall, or at least be irritated. When it was on its nose, it began to buzz like never before. The seagull, began to feel tingles, getting more and more intense that made him laugh, but still he continued his flight, after about two loops he was about to sneeze, but for some reason, he swallowed the fly.

—OHHH NOOOOOO! I have swallowed it, now I have no chance to stop, will I continue in this suffering after I die?— said the bird with sadness, and those were his last words, followed by the brutal shaking of a powerful giant hand, very smooth, full of drool, accompanied by the characteristic laughter of the newborns. The bird is still flying in circles, above laughing babies, not knowing that its only purpose is to manage the monotony to lull the purest souls to sleep, for that is the destiny of every crib toy for babies...
