Quizás parte de nuestra vida
aspire a ser hielo,
materia perecedera,
efímera, que se deslía
y corra lentamente
hacia la nada,
confundida con todas las aguas
posibles del universo.
Tal vez solo alcancemos
a ser el pico del iceberg
que asoma entre brumas
mientras nuestros cimientos
se ocultan para resguardarse
del mundo en caos.
O puede que seamos
ese pequeño copo de nieve
en la cima de un glaciar
que aún se mantiene,
memoria vetusta y firme
de esa primigenia formación
que somos.
Acaso preferiríamos
nadar en el gélido licor
que degusta nuestra soledad
y olvidar la angustia
del existir que nos agolpa.

to swim in the icy liquor
that tastes our solitude

Tu poema me hizo recordar una cita que leí hace años en la universidad: "Por el tormentoso callejón que transitamos todos los seres humanos, la puerta que no se abre con la llave de la poesía, con ninguna otra llave se podrá abrir". Solo me aprendí la cita, no el nombre del autor.
